Firstly as distributors of dried and smoked fish, and in 2006 the company expanded into selling catering supplies before opening the Cash & Carry in 2007. We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Position: Account Assistant
Job Location: Oyo

Role Description

Financial Record Keeping:
- Assist in maintaining and updating financial records, including invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documents.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in the accounting system.

Transaction Processing:
- Process, post, and record financial transactions, including payments, expenses, and revenue on the accounting software.
- Verify and reconcile transactions to ensure accuracy.

Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Invoice Processing:
- Generate and process invoices for Suppliers and customers.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and ensure timely collections.

Expense Management:
- Assist in monitoring and managing company expenses.
- Verify and process employee expense reports.

Assist in Budgeting:
- Support the budgeting process by providing relevant financial information.
- Assist in monitoring actual performance against budget.

Financial Reporting:
- Assist in working on schedules as supportive documents to the financial reports, summaries, and statements as needed.
- Assist in providing financial information for internal and external audits.

Communication and Coordination:
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and resolve any discrepancies.
- Communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.

Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with the company operational policies and regulations.

Other Task Assigned:
- Carry out any other accounting-related tasks that may be assigned by the superior officer.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software and MS Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of Sage 200 is a plus.
