Deepwater Engineering Limited (DEL) is a multi-discipline service provider formed by experienced professionals with years of direct experience within the major offshore Oil and Gas industry. The management has extensive experience of providing quality services in its areas of expertise.

Originally specialised in underwater NDT and inspection of offshore drilling rigs, shipping vessels, platforms and FPSO for classification societies such as ABS, DNV, BV, Lloyds, etc. Since then, we have expanded our services to carry out all types of Offshore and Onshore construction, inspection, salvage, support and maintenance.

Job Summary

• We are currently hiring a qualified Accountant with years of experience in the Marine, Oil & Gas industry in Nigeria.
• This position is strictly for candidates with indepth knowledge of accounting principles, practical application to the benefit of our organization with the use of Quickbooks

Roles

• Assists with daytoday running of the finance department.
• Preparation of Intercompany schedules for monthly & annual reporting.
• Preparation of schedules for JV management reports – Bank reconciliations, Fixed Assets Schedules, Accruals, Prepayments etc.
• Maintenance of GL accounts on Navision, monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet GL accounts.
• Ensures accurate & timely preparation of monthly management TBs/ reports for the group.
• Preparation of customer invoices – TMSA, APL and reconciliation of its related ledgers.
• Preparation of Intercompany & OPC invoices and reconciliation of its related ledgers.
• Ensure filing of statutory returns e.g. VAT, WHT, CIT are accurate and submitted on time.
• Timely Filing of and remittance of VAT & WHT returns for the Group & Shelf companies.
• Assists with yearend audits, production of financial statement for Group & Shelf Companies.

KPIs:

• Availability of updated & documented selfexplanatory Chart of Accounts.
• Generate accounting information & reports within reporting timelines.
• Reduction of % Error rate in daily postings & monthly general ledger close.
• Reduction of % in wastage and cost.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance or related field from an accredited university. 
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in similar role.
• Professional Qualification: Recognized professional accreditation (ICAN /CFA/ACA /CIMA/ ACCA etc.) is compulsory

Functional / Technicial:

• Proficient with QuickBooks.
• Proficiency of Corporate Accounting Practice / Standard Auditing Practices along with the expertise in budget analysis and identification of variance.
• Knowledge of statutory provision with respect to the taxmanagement & planning.
• Conversant with federal and state financial regulation, applicable laws, codes and regulations.
• Good understanding of oil and gas industry
