We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Accountant
Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Preparing accurate and timely financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) for each business unit and consolidated reports.
• Bookkeeping and Record-Keeping: Maintaining meticulous and organized financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and monitoring budgets, analyzing variances, and providing insightful financial forecasts for each business.
• Inventory Management: Overseeing inventory accounting, ensuring accurate valuation and control across all three businesses.
• Internal Controls: Establishing and maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
• Financial Analysis: Conducting financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement across all businesses.
• Liaison with External Auditors: Coordinating with external auditors during audits and providing necessary documentation.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Managing all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Tax Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, preparing and filing tax returns accurately and on time.
• Payroll Management: Overseeing payroll processing and ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitoring and managing cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for all business operations.
• Cost Accounting: Analyzing costs and providing insights to improve efficiency and profitability in each business unit.
• Software Proficiency: Utilizing accounting software and other relevant tools to manage financial data effectively.
• Performing other accounting and financial tasks as required.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Accountant, preferably with exposure to the retail, beauty (service-based), and pharmaceutical industries.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS or relevant local GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage the financials of multiple business units simultaneously.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
• Familiarity with inventory management practices in retail and pharmaceutical settings.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations within the beauty and pharmaceutical industries would be an advantage.

Salary
N300,000 / Month.
