Mattoris Supermarket is is recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Position: Cashier

Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they approach the checkout area.
• Scan and process items using a POS system.
• Accurately weigh and price bulk items.
• Accept payments and provide change to customers.
• Communicate with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the checkout area.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout area.
• Count cash drawers at the beginning and end of shift.
• Bag and pack items for customers.
• Process returns and exchanges efficiently and accurately.
• Answer customer questions and provide information about products, services and store policies and procedures.
• Interact with customers in a welcoming and friendly manner.
• Ensure compliance with store policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proven customer service experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of POS systems and cash registers.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions:

• The cashier will be working in a supermarket checkout area, which can be noisy and crowded with customers. The position requires standing for extended periods of time and may involve repetitive use of hands, wrists, and arms. Shifts may be varied and require working during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary
N60,000 / month.
