Job Position: Chartered Accountant
Job Location: Lagos
Job Summary:
- We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant with 2-3 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely occasionally while maintaining an organized and efficient work structure.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Maintain and update accurate financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights to aid in decision making.
- Monitor and track financial performance against budgets, identifying and reporting variances.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file statutory tax returns (VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, etc.) on time.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory tax requirements and provide tax planning strategies.
- Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as needed.
Auditing & Internal Controls:
- Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, payments, and collections.
- Manage reconciliation of accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with management, auditors, tax advisors, and external parties to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, IFRS, and accounting standards.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting and tax regulations, adapting practices accordingly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and local financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar tools).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Related certifications (ICAN, ACCA) are an advantage.
Salary Range
N200,000 - N250,000 per month.
