We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Cost Accountant
Job Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Description

• Oversee documentation for importation – pre-shipment, pre-arrival and post-arrival activities including (but not limited to) preparation of Form M, PAAR, liaising with suppliers and banks for release of documents, liaising with clearing agent for shipments etc.
• Import follow-up and documentation and tracking the shipments start to the ECD received and Empty containers returned and Refund of the container deposits.
• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
• Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation. Assist in month-end closing activities
• Purchases Accounting
• Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
• Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
• Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
• Conduct physical inventories and monitor variances.
• Expenses review reporting and principle recovery tracking and accounting
• Review and analyze inventory and margin reports
• Physical Stock taking and reconcile weekly / bi-weekly with books and pending deliveries tracking, weekly stock aging circulation; stock reconciliation of all warehouses (both company and third party)
• Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by brand by customer type
• Interpret financial information regarding cost improvements for management.
• Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst or similar role
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Certificate / Diploma in Cost Accounting will be an added advantage
• Must have a strong cost accounting background and excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
• Professional certifications in ICAN / ACCA is mandatory.
• Experience with any ERP, especially Tally ERP and Oracle
