Job Summary

  • We seek to engage a productivity-oriented professional who will collaborate with the executive management team, to improve the underwriting standards in alignment to local and international underwriting regulations, taking into cognizance, underwriting policies, guidelines, rating manual and insurance regulations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Implement Underwriting framework long-term strategic financial objectives
  • Evaluate the possibility of losses due to catastrophe or excessive insurance.
  • Review and possibly revamp of the Company’s insurance policies to determine acceptability of risk in accordance with the company’s guidelines and standards.
  • Lead underwriting, structuring, revisions and closing of amendments, up sizes and extensions as needed including annual reviews.
  • Provide sound underwriting philosophies and discipline across all company business lines and demonstrate operational effectiveness in dealing with claims according to company regulations aimed at meeting customer expectations
  • Set appropriate pricing for all key products in all channels and risk classes to ensure that the Company is meeting its stated strategy of underwriting to achieve profit in all products and across all distribution channels
  • Innovate product developments to meet consumers’ insurance needs with the aim of generating new business for the brand

Educational Requirements

  • B.Sc Degree or its equivalent in Business Admin or related field.
  • Membership of CIIN is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with 1 years in a similar or equivalent role in Experience in lending industry, most especially in lead generation, credit underwriting and collections management
  • Extensive experience in design of credit policy
  • Experience working in credit risk management

  • Ability to follow up with overdue and recover with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain proper records for the management
