Job Position: Data Scientist and Instructor (Geospatial)
Job Location: Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria (Hybrid)

Role Description

• This is a full-time hybrid Data Scientist and Instructor (Geospatial) role. The role is primarily based in Abuja, with some flexibility for remote work.
• The Data Scientist and Instructor (Geospatial) will brainstorm on, design, develop, and implement geospatial data science solutions and facilitate training workshops targeted at empowering learners with general data science and geospatial analysis skills in R and Python.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Geospatial Information Systems or a related field is a mandatory requirement.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, demonstrating a profound understanding of geospatial data science solutions and methodologies.
• Proficiency in major programming languages and data analysis toolkits such as SQL, Python and R.
• Strong track record in delivering technical training programs and presenting to groups.
• Proficient in conducting spatial data analysis utilizing GIS software including but not limited to ArcGIS, QGIS, and Geopandas.
• Exceptional communication, instructional, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively and patiently educate learners.
• Experience in the collection and analysis of geospatial data, and familiarity with remote sensing, GPS, survey design, and spatial modeling.
• Excellent Experience in delivering training programs in Python and R.
