LAPO Microfinance Bank provides a range of financial services which enable low-income households enhance their productive capacity; build and consolidate their economic and manage their risks. These products and services include loans, savings, micro-investment and micro-insurance services.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Database Administration Officer
Job Location: Lagos

Key Responsibilities
Database Installation & Configuration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain database software and related tools.
  • Deploy database updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Manage database instances and schemas.

Database Monitoring & Performance:

  • Monitor database performance and identify potential issues.
  • Analyze database logs and performance metrics.
  • Implement performance tuning and optimization measures.
  • Proactively identify and resolve database bottlenecks.

Database Security & Integrity:

  • Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
  • Manage user access and permissions to databases.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across databases.

Backup & Recovery:

  • Implement and manage database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Perform database restores as needed.
  • Ensure data recoverability in case of disasters.

Data Management:

  • Manage database storage and capacity planning.
  • Perform data migrations and conversions as needed.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency.

Troubleshooting & Support:

  • Provide technical support to users and developers on database usage and troubleshooting.
  • Resolve database-related issues and escalate complex problems to senior DBAs or vendors.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for databases.
  • Generate reports on database performance, usage, and issues.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to ensure smooth database operations.
  • Participate in database design reviews and code reviews.
