Job Position: DevOps Engineer

Job Location: Gbagada, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure platforms.
• Automate deployment, scaling, and management of applications and services using DevOps principles and practices.
• Implement security best practices and compliance standards for cloud environments.
• Provide support and guidance to development teams on cloud architecture and best practices.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline the software delivery pipeline.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and delivery of software applications.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of cloud-based services.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in DevOps and cloud computing.

Skill Sets

• Minimum of 2 Years of Experience managing a production project with a minimum of 600,000 active users
• Nice to Haves: Experience with Zoho Applications and Microsoft Sharepoint
• Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of networking concepts and experience with cloud networking services like VPC, Subnets, VPNs, and Load Balancers.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or AWS CloudWatch.
• Proficiency in cloud computing platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Strong scripting skills with languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
• Understanding of security principles and experience implementing security controls in cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to debug complex issues in distributed systems.

Tool Set Proficiencies:

• AWS Services: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, ECS, EKS, CloudFormation, etc.
• Azure Services: Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Virtual Networks, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Resource Manager (ARM), etc.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
• Containerization: Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes.
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps.
• Scripting languages: Bash, Python, PowerShell.
• Monitoring and Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, AWS CloudWatch.
• Source Control: Git (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
• Configuration Management: Ansible, Puppet, Chef.
• Security tools: AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), Azure Active Directory (AD), Security Groups, Network ACLs, AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall), Azure Security Center.
