Early Years Classroom Teacher Job in Enugu
The Early Years Teacher must have sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
Must possess high patience and love for children.
Must have the passion for teaching young children between the ages of 1-5 years.
Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to carry out the following responsibilities:
- Classroom Management: Creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages children's active participation, engagement, and exploration.
- Instruction and Teaching: Delivering lessons and educational activities that cater to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of children. This may involve using various teaching methods, such as play-based learning, storytelling, art, music, and hands-on activities.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Observing and assessing children's progress, strengths, and areas for improvement. Keeping records and documentation of their achievements, milestones, and developmental milestones.
- Individualized Support: Identifying and addressing the unique needs and learning challenges of individual children. Providing additional support and adapting teaching strategies to accommodate diverse abilities and learning styles.
- Parent and Guardian Communication: Regularly communicating and collaborating with parents or guardians to share information about children's progress, behavior, and development. Providing feedback, suggestions, and strategies for supporting children's learning at home.
- Emotional and Social Development: Promoting positive social interactions, emotional well-being, and self-esteem among children. Encouraging the development of empathy, cooperation, conflict resolution skills, and respect for others.
- Health and Safety: Ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of children in the classroom. Following appropriate protocols for hygiene, nutrition, and emergency procedures. Administering basic first aid when necessary.
- Partnership with Support Staff: Collaborating with teaching assistants, support staff, and professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to provide comprehensive support to children with special needs or learning difficulties.
- Continuous Professional Development: Engaging in ongoing professional development activities to enhance your knowledge, skills, and understanding of early childhood education. Keeping up to date with the latest research, methodologies, and best practices in the field.
