The Defence Space Administration (DSA) was established by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to: Develop and operate military Space Technologies; Support Nigerian Military operations both within and outside the country as well as Security Agencies responsible for internal security, through the use of satellite; Provide resilient and affordable Space and Cyberspace capabilities for the Nigerian Military, other Security and Law Enforcement Agencies

Job Title: Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Engineer
Location: Nigeria

Job Description

• Perform a variety of assignments related to the accuracy of position, velocity determination and trajectory analysis.
• Perform orbit determination for a variety of satellite missions using real and simulated data.
• Design and perform experiments to evaluate and improve orbit determination performance.
• Process mission data and perform mission-level and system-level analyses.
• Provide positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) technical analyses in support of satellite navigation activities.
• Provide PNT services including orbit determination, geo-positioning and space based navigation such as GPS.
• Perform analysis and studies of next generation Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
• Design and perform experiments to evaluate and improve orbit determination preference.
• Perform analyses and studies for next-generation GNSS designs and architectures.

Job Requirements

• Experience in PNT systems of systems engineering, design, technical evaluation, or acquisition oversight
• Knowledge of threats to PNT systems and their effective counter-measures
• Understanding of PNT dependencies with other capabilities such as tactical communications, command and control, or targeting
• Understanding of weapon systems that rely on or incorporate PNT systems
• Familiarity with emerging PNT technologies from industry or academia.
• Familiarity with anti-jam antennas and signal processing
• Knowledge of hardware including radio frequency (RF) through digital and embedded processing
• Broad technical familiarity in PNT systems (spanning space / ground / user segment technologies), military and commercial.
• Experience with understanding gaps, formulating technical solutions, and also providing acquisition oversight for enterprise modernization of Joint PNT systems.
• Strong communications background (verbal and written)

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc Physics, Engineering or Computer Science.

Job Position: Computer Programmer
Job Location: Nigeria

Job Description

• Develop programs in a variety of computer languages, such as C, C++, JAVA, MATLAB, SIMULINK, ROCKSIM, ANSYS, SOLIDWORKS and RPA. Debug programs by testing for and fixing errors. Build and use computer-assisted software engineering (CASE) tools to automate the writing of some code. Must be very proficient in C, C++, JAVA and PYTHON

Job Requirements

• Candidate Must be proficient in MATLAB, JAVA, SIMULINK, ROCKSIM, ANSYS, SOLIDWORKS With relevant experience of 3-5 Years

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc/B.Eng or equivalent in Computer Science.

Job Position: Earth Observation Officer
Job Location: Nigeria

Job Description

• Data Collection, analysing data, Compiling Excel Spreadsheets, coding and re-coding data and using MATLAB.
• Imagery Change Detection, Feature Extraction, View Shed Analysis, Cost-Distance Analysis, Travel-time Analysis and advanced multi-criteria analyses using complex arrays of data inputs.
• Processing, editing and manipulation of Geospatial imagery and derived classification products.

Job Requirements

• Must be proficient in GIS/ Remote Sensing Software such as;

Job Position: Systems Engineer

Job Description

• Assist users in solving technical problems and investigating elevated issues by confirming the validity of the problem and seeking for known solutions.
• Perform needs assessment for new applications and modifications to existing ones, make sure the related policies are followed and that every ICT initiative, project or application is properly registered in the Application Portfolio.
• Should be able to support management and operations of all ICT infrastructure, equipment and services.
• Ensures that ICT-delivered services and end-user needs are met, understood and foresee ICT configuration changes.
• Provide user support and technical/functional specialist support to the office.
• Prepare and draft ICT operational, technical, hardware requirements and specifications
• Update and maintain the ICT equipment inventory.

Job Position: Satellite Systems Engineer

• Designs programs that direct orbiting satellites and keep them function properly.
• Creates satellite command systems that remotely control satellite activities from ground stations.
• Conducts testing of communication systems, collect data that tracks satellite trends and behaviour and write status reports.

• B.Eng Elect/Elect Engr, Telecoms Engr or BSc Computer Science
• ONF-Certified SDN Associate Certification, OCSA Certification Preparation training.
• Maximum age: 28 years

Job Position: Radio Navigation Engineer
Job Location: Nigeria

Job Description

• Support the DSA in the monitoring of industrial contracts for the development of radio navigation (System Support) tools and equipment including receivers and for studies on radio navigation, including generating technical requirements and statements of work.
• Participation in the overall Radio Navigation R&D roadmap for the definition of high Technology Readiness Level (TRL) activities.
• GNSS System Implementation and Verification including support to System Test Campaigns using System Tools including Radio Navigation Receivers.
• Participation in studies, simulations and laboratory testing for the assessment of system end-to-end functionalities and performance, including measurement campaigns, data processing and field testing, also applied to radio navigation receivers design and techniques.

Job Requirements

• At least 4 years’ experience relevant with GNSS systems and equipment including receivers and good knowledge of Radio Navigation processing, simulation and testing systems.
• Knowledge in the implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation processing, simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications.
• Specific and Strong knowledge on the design of satellite navigation systems, ranging and positioning techniques, RF, and signal processing techniques, focusing on navigation receivers.
• Strong experience at user level with satellite navigation receivers and satellite navigation positioning and integrity algorithms.

• B.Sc or M.Sc in Telecommunic-ations and Signal Processing or Electronic Engineering,

Job Position: Software Engineer – Navigation
Job Location: Nigeria

Job Description

• Recommending and executing improvements and also creating technical documentation for reference and reporting.
• The Software Engineer will work with developers to design algorithms and flowcharts for new navigation application systems, produce clean, efficient code based on specifications and integrate software components and third-party programs. He/she will also verify and deploy programs and systems, troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software.
