Job Description
- Crown City Resort, a leading hospitality destination in Agbara, Nigeria, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of the resort.
- The ideal candidate must have a strong background in finance, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team.
- This is a fully onsite position with the provision ofan accommodation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the finance department’s daily operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger management, payroll processing, and financial reporting, while ensuring accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Ensure full adherence to GAAP, Nigerian accounting standards, and other relevant regulatory requirements, while remaining current on changes in financial regulations and standards in Nigeria to guide compliance practices.
- Prepare and present accurate, timely financial statements, detailed reports, and insightful analyses that align with GAAP, local standards, and company policies to inform business decisions.
- Actively monitor and manage cash flow to guarantee adequate liquidity for ongoing operations, while optimizing cash management strategies and overseeing prudent investment activities.
- Implement robust cost control measures and monitor expenditures across the organization, conducting financial reviews to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and implement effective internal control mechanisms to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial reporting processes.
- Oversee payroll processing and employee benefits administration to ensure accurate, timely payment of wages, while managing all statutory deductions, taxes, pension contributions, and other employee-related obligations.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering professional development to build a high-performing team.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed financial analysis to support strategic business goals, operational planning, and long-term financial initiatives.
- Coordinate with external auditors and relevant regulatory bodies to prepare for and manage both internal and external audits, ensuring seamless audit processes and full regulatory compliance.
- Partner with other departments to align financial strategies with overall company objectives and support cross-functional initiatives that drive organizational success.
- Maintain accurate standard costs to optimize profit margins, encompassing input costs, production expenses, and pricing adjustments.
- Establish and enforce effective supply chain standards that align with organizational needs, ensuring that all procedures support sound management decision-making.
- Oversee financial elements of vendor contracts, including negotiation, payment terms, and compliance with contractual obligations to ensure effective vendor relationships and contract fulfillment.
- Above all, ensure standard operating procedures (SOP) established and complied with in all areas of operation.
Requirements
- Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; with a certification ICAN,CCA , AAT preferred.
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with an experience as asupervisory/team leadrole.
- Having an experience in the hospitality industry is an added advantage.
- Must have a strong understanding of Nigerian financial regulations, tax laws, and local accounting standards.
- Must be proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial managers.
- Must have a high level of integrity and professionalism.
