We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Position: Fleet Associate
Job Locations: Benin City - Edo, Ibadan - Oyo, Port Harcourt - Rivers & Lagos
Job Role
- The Fleet Associate is responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, tracking, and disposal of fleet vehicles.
- The fleet associate also serves as the primary contact concerning the vehicle fleet and operations and manages 3PL relations.
Responsibilities
- Onboarding new and keeping track of every transporter
- Keep track of every fleet at all times
- 3PL relations and onboarding
- Directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising movement from the market to customers' sites.
- Maintenance of fleet, purchasing, deciding whether to lease or buy, assisting to recruit drivers
- Decision making on the aspect of acquisition approach (To lease or to buy)
- Provide assistance to recruit new drivers, train and develop them
- Develops and administers vehicle/equipment asset management processes from procurement to disposition.
- Create vehicle purchase specifications and purchase vehicles for all University departments.
- Implement cost-effectiveness measures and manage budgets
- Provide strategies to ensure logistics effectiveness
- Create and establish fleet policies and procedures
- Analyzing data to increase business operational efficiency.
- Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles in case of theft.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or Accounting or any other related course
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience as an auto mechanic
- Experience in creating and establishing fleet policies and procedures
- Experience in price, spec, and purchase or lease vehicles.
- Understand and track total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Budgetary experience negotiating skills
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
- Quantitative ability.
- Attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
