Role Description
- Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Finance and Accountant to lead their financial operations.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, including strategic planning, financial reporting, budget management, cash flow analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
- The role requires a deep understanding of financial practices in the real estate sector and a strong ability to manage and direct all financial activities to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership:
- Lead the financial planning and strategy development for the company.
- Provide financial advice and support to management for strategic decision-making.
- Establish and manage financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure profitability.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and manage annual budgets, including revenue forecasts and expenditure control.
- Monitor the company’s financial performance against budgets and long-term strategic goals.
- Provide regular financial reports to the executive team, identifying trends and variances.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and the board of directors.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to ensure accuracy in reporting and identify areas of improvement.
- Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial data from different business units.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Oversee cash flow management, ensuring adequate funding for ongoing and future projects.
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure financing and optimize interest rates.
- Monitor investments and financial risk management strategies.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all local and international financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Implement internal controls and audit systems to mitigate risks and safeguard the company's financial integrity.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and legal advisors to ensure compliance and manage audits.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring professional development and succession planning.
- Foster a collaborative working environment between the finance department and other divisions.
Real Estate Project Financing:
- Evaluate and manage the financial feasibility of real estate projects, including property acquisition, development costs, and potential revenue streams.
- Oversee loan arrangements, equity financing, and other real estate-specific funding requirements.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate financial results, forecasts, and insights effectively to stakeholders, including investors, board members, and senior executives.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- MBA or ICAN/CPA/ACCA/CA qualification is strongly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within the real estate sector.
- Proven track record of managing financial operations for large real estate projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of real estate financing, tax implications, and financial risk management.
- Expertise in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, etc.).
- Proficiency in accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial regulations.
Leadership & Communication:
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Analytical Mindset:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on details and accuracy.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to forecast financial trends and identify growth opportunities.
