Health, Safety & Environment Manager

We're currently seeking for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager  (HSE)  to help the company in Providing a safe and healthy workplace for employees. Reducing drastically the number of accidents and injuries in the workplace and Improving morale within the workforce.

Tempo Paper Pulp and Packaging  PLC is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of BOPP and CPP film to lamination and packaging industries in Nigeria and  Africa based in Sango Ota, Ogun State.

Job Description

• Oversee compliance reviews, general risk assessment and other safety assessment to support Health, Safety and Environmental Management.
• Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation
• Ensure compliance of applicable laws and regulations
• Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary

• Provide assistance and advise on HSE issues to make recommendations

• Participate in detailed incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Promote incidence prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors
• Responsible for the development and presentation of relevant HSE training
• Ensure observation of all HSE regulations, encourage safe working practices and correct obvious hazards.
• Co ordinate work with employees to achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance
• Maintain positive and proactive relations with manager and employees as well as our customers and regulatory agencies
• Walk the production floor on a regular basis to establish HSE presence and provide support
• Conduct daily and monthly HSE meeting/training as needed
• Write, implement and manage HSE programs, policies and procedures
• Perform facility HSE inspection
• Evaluation of PPE to ensure proper use and maintenance
• Enforce compliance to regulatory requirement and company HSE policy
• Participate in emergency response and first aid treatment
• Oversee safety incentive programs

Other duties as assigned by Management

QUALIFICATION:

Minimum requirement: Degree/HND in science course

• Added advantage:  Masters in Science or Safety related course

EXPERIENCE

Minimum requirement:  Five years in any industry

Added Advantage: More than five years in manufacturing sector

PROFESSIONAL (MEMBERSHIPS & CERIFICATIONS)

Minimum requirement: Health and Safety Certification

Added Advantage:
