We are recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions below:


1.) Project Officer

Job Location: Enugu
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Project Officer is a junior role on our health division team and this colleague will spend 75% of his/her time working on the delivery of ongoing and new projects (covering diverse areas such as vertical disease control programmes, AMR, Supply Chain, evaluations and assessments, etc) and 25% of his/her time on supporting business development to grow our portfolio in Enugu and in the region.
  • The Project Officer will have 2-3 years’ relevant experience in public health project management, partnership and stakeholder management, and technical writing.
  • Candidate should also have relevant experience to be able to support the management of workshops, expert/stakeholder consultations, in-country presentations, and coordination activities for programmes and projects across the country. Experience in engaging with government are desirable.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Support the development of project plans with timelines and deliverables and lead project to successful completion, on-time and on-budget, from start to finish with limited senior management guidance
  • Support the smooth rollout and implementation of projects per agreed project plan and timelines
  • Support hiring and managing of project teams and data collection agencies/external consultants
  • Provide inputs to the process of proposal preparation and/or modifications including overall bid integrity, understanding the needs of the stakeholders, and driving development of relevant and cost- competitive bids
  • Identify partners, consultants, and subject matter experts in the country and region for bids and pursuits
  • Develop and/or elevate new business opportunities through the identification of follow-on work and new leads
  • Engage with stakeholders in the public health ecosystem to identify and build out new business opportunities
  • Ensure the development of client reports and presentations and delivery of all or significant portions of findings to the client
  • Negotiate and manage third party contracts for data collection and/or other activities
  • Support on-site technical assistance visits to partners as needed/requested
  • Represent the team in stakeholder/client/consortium meetings
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts, including point of view and editorial pieces, and stakeholder engagement activities.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / Master's Degree qualification with 2 - 3 years work experience.

2.) Programme Assistant

Job Location: Enugu
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of new projects, across key programmes;
  • Participate in the development, operationalization and revision of project work-plans to ensure that activities are carried out as an when scheduled;
  • Prepare project management reports for portfolio reviews and evaluation;
  • Produce program activity and periodic reports, and produce project reports;
  • Assist the planning, organisation and coordination of project-specific capacity building events;
  • Participate in constituency interface activities such as data analysis, community engagement, advocacy visits and monitoring activities;
  • Carry out any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Cluster Lead.

Requirements
Required degree level:

  • University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in Medical or Health Sciences, (Pharmacy) Public Policy, Statistics, or related fields.

Required experience:

  • At least 12 months working experience in public health, with demonstrated experience in program management and an understanding of health systems strengthening.
  • Experience working with FMOH/SMOH and NPHCDA/SPHCBs, and an understanding of how the public sector works, as well as the political environment in which health systems strengthening and health security programs are implemented.
  • Experience with capacity development activities and exercises related to data analysis and use, logistics and service delivery, policy development, and/or communications for development.
  • Diplomatic skills and experience interacting with staff of government ministries, departments and agencies, development partners, and civil society organizations is an advantage. Experience working on donor-supported projects is desirable.

3.) Health Economics Specialist

Job Location: Enugu
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are recruiting for a Health Economics Specialist to joinour team, working out of Enugu State, Nigeria. The holder of this position will develop the organisation’s capacity to support policy costing using the one-health tool, support costing of improved and new delivery strategies and interventions towards strong and resilient health systems, and contribute to cost-effectiveness analysis of interventions to strengthen capacity to track Value for Money (VfM) across projects and the programmes and systems that we support.
  • The post-holder will also focus on supporting the design and leading the implementation of economic evaluations to inform policies, decision-making, and resource allocation.
  • The post-holder will also provide technical assistance to Ministries of Health and other partners and contribute to the evaluation of the benefits of new or proposed health policies. The post-holder will be actively involved in organisational activities such as working groups, business areas, and communities of practice.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health economics, excellent analytical and research skills, and the ability to communicate complex economic concepts effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct economic evaluations and analyses of public health interventions, treatments, and programmes.
  • Develop and/or adapt economic models to assess the value and impact of public health intervention.
  • Identify and collect relevant economic data from various sources, including literature reviews and databases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, researchers, and policymakers, to provide economic insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and publications summarising research findings from costing studies and economic evaluations.
  • Provide guidance and support for the design of health economics-related projects.

Essential Requirements

  • A Degree in Economics, Medical or Health Sciences, Public Health, Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant area in development.
  • A postgraduate qualification in health economics.
  • Proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., R, Stata, SAS) and economic modelling software (e.g., TreeAge, Excel-based modelling).
  • Experience in developing the technical capabilities of colleagues through coaching, mentoring, training, or line management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Significant experience of undertaking costing exercises and economic evaluations.
  • Experience building health economic models from scratch e.g., cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and Markov models.
  • Experience in using decision analysis methods and software.
  • Proficiency in the use of the One-Health costing Tool.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team; and
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in a global or international organisation, at mid-level and with high performance.
  • Substantial experience working in a technical support capacity with Ministries of health, international agencies and non-Governmental organisations.
  • Demonstratable experience in proposal or bid writing, with recent experience of successful submissions.
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing policy and practice at national, sub-national or global levels; and
  • Experience conducting systematic literature reviews.
