1.) Mechanical Planner

About the Job


  • Improve the efficiency and productivity of own personnel and third party services through a good planning, follow up and optimization of all preventive/corrective maintenance tasks to reach the targets of equipment availability / reliability at the lowest sustainable maintenance cost, in collaboration with all involved departments or sub-departments, following the maintenance guide lines defined by the company.

What you'll be doing 

  • The Mechanical Planner is responsible to prepare all planned maintenance that have to be carried out by the Mechanical Execution team, service companies or contractors.

Responsibilties
In that role, the Mechanical Planner will work closely with the inspectors and the execution team on the following tasks and responsibilities in order to reinforce the day-to-day job preparation & planning:

  • Planning and scheduling of all preventive maintenance routines in SAP/DMS together with the specific execution responsible.
  • Generation and optimization of the 48/96 weeks workload balancing sheet by department/specialty/technic targeting a good balance during the days of the year.
  • Generates the weekly and 13 weeks planning.
  • Prioritizes the notifications coming from condition monitoring or others and generates corrective work orders in agreement with the requester
  • Leads the preparation and consolidation of the shutdown planning (personal, third parties services, materials, spare parts, equipment, tools, time, critical path) with coordination meetings using MAC guidelines and tools.
  • Generates purchase orders as well as third party services contracts for mayor shutdown, assure that spares and services will be delivered on time.
  • Control of expenses during planning as well during the execution vs budget and control the inventory level vs guide value
  • Assure that special and repetitive jobs come with a standard work order. Lead the weekly KPI revision meeting as well as the work planning confirmation for the next week
  • Takes care of his own development needs and train maintenance people on planning requirements
  • Assure that all work orders have the required H&S information, and that all legal requirements (safety, environmental, maintenance) are in the yearly preventive maintenance plan and are executed.
  • Monitor the realization of the plans.
  • Follow-up tasks defined in mayor shut-downs in a daily frequency.
  • Leads After Action Review for shutdown or mayor repairs
  • The Mechanical Planner will be utilized to supervise some jobs and contractors during annual plant
  • The list is not exhaustive as planners may be required to perform other functions as may be assigned by the manager.

What we are looking for 

  • Mechanical Engineering graduate
  • 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, including rotating machines, equipment maintenance, condition monitoring, in cement manufacturing company, refinery, power or heavy process plan
  • Knowledge of gearboxes, transmissions, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding techniques, lubrication, and mechanical non-destructive testing
  • Adequate Knowledge related to equipment function & maintenance (Crusher, Stacker, Reclaimer, Raw mill, Belt Conveyors & Aux. Equipments)
  • Good knowledge of Machinery condition Monitoring technologies and maintenance philosophies.
  • Ability to trouble shoots the problem and proposed corrective actions.
  • Excellent knowledge of vibration analysis, oil analysis, wear measurement, thermography, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, radiography, etc
  • Good knowledge of RCA methodology and facilitating skills
  • CMRP certification will be an added advantage.

2.) Drill Rig Operator

About the Job 

  • The role holder is primarily responsible for operating a drilling machine to create holes in rock at the quarry or for surface mining operations. 
  • He/she would also be involved in setting up and maintaining the drilling equipment, ensuring safe working practices and potentially supervising junior operators. 
  • Monitor and keep an accurate record of drill accessories consumption to avoid wastage of bits.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the drilling machine to create blasting holes in rock, following safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on the drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by implementing safety measures, adhering to safety regulations, and reporting any unsafe conditions
  • Collaborate with mining engineers and geologists to assess drilling sites and plan drilling operations in line with production demand.
  • Maintain accurate records of drilling operations, including depth, pressure, and production rates.
  • Monitor and keep a very accurate record of drilling accessories consumption, ascertain and eschew wastages of drill bits.
  • Maybe responsible for supervising junior operators and support staff, providing training and guidance on drilling techniques and safety practices.

  • Human dimension: Quarry Engineer.
  • Organisational dimension: The incumbent interacts regularly with all categories of Staff in the Plant and offers professional advice on best practice to operate mobile equipment.
  • He/she also interacts regularly with the plant operators on best operating practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum OND/ND Certificate 
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in machine main systems.
  • Fully understand the machine operation parameters (feed pressure, percussion pressure, flushing air pressure and temperature)
  • Good knowledge of safety regulations and rules applicable in an industrial area
  • Effectively coordinate the activities of the Mobile Plant department
  • Ability to prioritise with excellent time management skills
  • Good attention to detail and communication skills.

3.) Security Operative

Job Summary

  • The Security Operative (SO) is responsible for keeping Lafarge Africa and suppliers’ staff, visitors, and similar safe & secure.
  • Based on shift work rotation the SO will be in the plant between eight and twelve hours, also on weekends, and supervise all security related activities while in parallel supervise and support all company transport activities.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the protection of the company’s PEARL (People, Environment, Assets, Reputation & Legal Exposure) in the South-East Region under the direction of the Security Manager South-East.
  • Support the supervision of the Private Security Provider, ensuring they fulfil their contractual obligations. Conduct supervisory checks on the 3rd party security provider and the services provided such as random checks at guard locations in Mfamosing Plant (MFA) and Calabar, joining vehicular patrols and ensuring all standards agreed are being fulfilled. To be conducted utilising various online tools that are available.
  • Ensure Lafarge Health & Safety standards are adhered to.
  • Supervise and direct the armed security incident response force.
  • Supervise and direct security assets during crises periods and/or in case of direct assaults on company staff and/or assets.
  • Provide reliable and concise incident data and write accurate reports via the various company online tools.
  • Interact with the local PSF (Public Security Forces) in cases of (armed) attacks, intrusions, trespassing, fraud and theft.
  • Safeguard that all Security & Resilience Policies of the company are adhered to.
  • Act as a communicator between the Plant Management and Security Department when the Senior Security Operatives is not present.
  • Work in shifts ensuring there is a 24/7 security supervision function on duty.
  • Support with investigations and detailed report writing. Validate reporting independent of the Private Security Provider’s report.
  •  Conduct independent assessments and identify gaps in baseline physical security and notify/ advise both the Security Manager and Senior Security Operative.
  • Gather local intelligence on all aspects and issues to support and protect the business.
  • Create and maintain intelligence networks.
  • Reporting of incidents on the Group Security SINT platform.
  • Monitoring and supervision of CCTV operators, video evidence assessment and ongoing projects.

What we are looking for

  • OND minimum requirement 
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a security supervisory position
  • Security incident supervisory experience (incl. following up on complex incidents such as shootings, armed attacks, theft, and similar)
  • Experience of supervising teams and resources
  • Capability to drive Lafarge security standards in all business activities.
  • Be Microsoft Office proficient
  • Ability to produce different kind of vetted and accurate incident reports.
