Alert Microfinance Bank Limited is a limited liability company, incorporated in Nigeria by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with Registration Certificate No 1112134 on 2nd May, 2013 as a company limited by shares. The bank commenced full financial operations on 2nd January, 2014 with an Authorized share capital of N 20,000,000 (Twenty Million naira only) fully paid up at a nominal value of N1.00 per share.
We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
1.) Head of Treasury & Investment
Job Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Roles and Responsibility
- The primary responsibility of the Head of Investment is to supervise and support the company’s activities to achieve profitability and productivity and ensure full compliance with Alert Group Policy and Procedures, particularly to support the liability generation and relationship management objectives of the group.
Job Description
Finance:
- Identification and development of the strategy for sustained liability generation
- Monitoring and managing the bank’s liquidity.
- Fund mobilization;
- Risk analysis;
- Debt Facilities Management;
- Oversee the management of the bank’s investment funds.
Relationship / Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with other company Senior Management Executives to set and achieve the long-term vision for the company based on a thorough understanding of the long-term market and economic trends that will affect the future of the investment business and the firm’s Vision and Mission;
- Develop/Define future business strategies and goals aimed at achieving the organization’s objectives;
- Collaborate with clients to manage their investment portfolios according to their risk appetite and investment goals;
- Interface with the Finance and Operations functions to ensure smooth operations of the funds and portfolios;
- Develop strong internal relations with various departments to maximize firm-wide success and profitability;
- Grow the volume and value of transactions through asset and customers diversification, thus translating them into revenue growth areas;
- Identify and build high-quality client relationships within various segments of institutional investors and high-net-worth clients;
- Will be in charge of developing a suitable Wealth Management unit in the company;
- Oversee all aspects of transaction life cycles: Client sourcing, Marketing, Due diligence, negotiation, Documentation, and Closing;
- Ensure the highest standards of service delivery;
- Build and further develop a team of highly capable professionals who would help achieve the mission of the firm;
- Preparation of Board and monthly ALCO reports;
- Preparation of weekly gap analysis for planning and decision-making.
Process Management:
- Interest rate risk management and development of risk mitigation strategies;
- Develop policy & procedure manual for treasury and investment operations with adequate controls incorporated.
Training and Supervision
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree.
- Must have experience from an asset management company

2.) Head Training & People Manager

- The primary responsibility of the Head of Human Resources, Training and Development is to recruit, hire, onboard, train, administer benefits, compensate, fire, and ensure full compliance with Alert Group Limited Policy and Procedures
Job Description
Training and Development:
- Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with line managers
- Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations
- Deploy a wide variety of training methods
- Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions
- Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them
- Manage training budget
- Provide opportunities for ongoing development
- Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary
- Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
Human Resources:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Manage the recruitment and selection process
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization

Skills and Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 4 - 8 years of work experience.
- Proven experience within an Employee Relations role in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in organisational change processes, for example redundancy and TUPE consultation
- Experience of managing medium-high risk ER cases to conclusion
- Strong team player who is confident and self-motivated
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to quickly develop a rapport and strong working relationships remotely, across all levels, within the wider HR team and business teams.
- Good understanding and application of employment legislation
- Strong communication and listening skills, being comfortable in coaching, advising and influencing managers dealing with ER issues
- Ability to assess risks and make fair decisions that meet the needs of the business
- Strong organisational skills able to plan, prioritise and work under pressure with good attention to detail
- CIPD or CIPM qualified
- Excellent Microsoft and Google office usage
- Bi-Power will be a plus

3.)Branch Manager
Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Description
- Coordinate, supervise, market loan products and process loan applications for Customers
- Oversee subordinates and evaluate loan processing to determine customers financial eligibility and feasibility of repayment of loans
- Visiting the business /employer of guarantors and preparing a complete loan assessment according to the bank’s credit procedures
- Presenting loan proposals to the credit units and informing the client about the decision of the credit committee on loan approvals.
- Ensuring punctual repayments of acquired loans from clients, contacting and visiting all parties based on needs
- Ensure compliance with applicable ratios and metrics of loan assessment and repayment
- Complete loan contracts and counsel clients on policies and restrictions
- Opening loan applications Conducting loan analysis by visiting the business and household of clients
- Ensuring high quality standards of the bank’s credit portfolio
- Ability to meet and exceed targets while actively working to increasing business portfolio and client’s base.
Key Requirements
- Minimum of B.Sc. or its equivalent in Marketing or related field.
- 5 years of cognate experience from a reputable State/National Licensed Microfinance Bank.
- Sound Risk Management experience and can deliver a Min of 80 - 100 million Naira Loan Monthly target with good success rate and track records.
- Experienced in repayment tracking and loan collection without a day default
- Good knowledge of Lagos Island and Mainland markets
- Ability to disburse SME Loans in large volumes without default

4.) Legal Officer
Job Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure that all processes and changes thereto are fully documented.
- To ensure that legal opinions given on all matters are robust, well researched and fully protect the overall interest of the Bank.
- To establish a system for tracking turn around time for all legal advices.
- To assist Documentation team when required, including drafting of new formats of documentation.
- To prepare all litigation cases together with other members of the Legal Unit, ensure proper follow up and report on the status of new and outstanding cases with proper escalation to Management;
- To vet/draft agreements pertaining to all services availed by or provided by the Bank;
- To assist in the complete implementation of all agreements.
- To vet/draft security documents in accordance with approved terms, evaluating critical issues pertaining to security documents and ensuring that they do not contain any irregularity.
- To introduce a prioritization process and turnaround time for all cases referred by Recovery Department;
- To assist in the drafting of answers to plaints with summons and counter affidavits and ensure that, at all times, the interests of the Bank are well protected.
- To keep up to date with amendments in legislations and advise on their implications for the Bank.
Qualifications & Experience
- LLB undergraduate Degree holder.
- At least 2 years of legal experience in financial services ideally in a handling legal cases , contract negotiation and drafting with skills in leading a legal team, preferably in the Banking Sector

- Demonstrate success in managing and conducting a variety of litigation matters.
- Good planning and organization skills and proven ability to delicately solve sensitive matters
