We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Laboratory Assistant


Job Location: Jos, Plateau
Department: Laboratory / Quality Control
Reports To: Laboratory Supervisor / Quality Control Manager

Job Purpose

  • The Laboratory Assistant supports laboratory operations by supervising the preparation, handling, and analyzing mineral samples to ensure accurate testing and quality control of tin, columbite, zircon, monazite and other mineral products.
  • The role ensures compliance with safety standards, testing procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, label, and log mineral samples from suppliers.
  • Supervise the preparation of samples for analysis (crushing, pulverizing, and weighing).
  • Assist in conducting physical and chemical tests on tin, columbite, monazite and other minerals.
  • Record and maintain accurate laboratory test results and documentation.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration.
  • Observe and enforce laboratory safety and environmental standards.
  • Assist in quality control checks on processed mineral output.
  • Dispose of laboratory waste in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory.
  • Report any equipment malfunction or irregular test results to the supervisor.

Requirements
Education:

  • Minimum of B.Sc. in Chemistry, Geology, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or related field.

Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of mineral testing and laboratory procedures.
  • Familiarity with safety standards in mining environments.
  • Must be done with NYSC and willing to learn.

2.) Air Float Machine Operator

Job Location: Jos, Plateau
Department: Mineral Processing / Plant Operations
Reports To: Plant Supervisor / Chief Process Operator

Job Summary

  • The Air Float Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the air floatation equipment to separate minerals (tin, columbite, zircon, and other ores) based on density and chemical properties.
  • The role ensures optimal machine performance, accurate mineral separation, and compliance with operational, safety, and environmental standards.
  • The operator supports production efficiency by maintaining equipment, troubleshooting minor faults, and reporting irregularities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor the air floatation machine according to standard operating procedures.
  • Feed mineral slurry into the machine at correct rates and observe separation efficiency.
  • Adjust air flow, chemical dosing, and machine parameters to optimize mineral recovery.
  • Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance of the machine (lubrication, cleaning, inspection).
  • Record daily operational data, production output, and quality reports.
  • Identify and report mechanical or process irregularities to the supervisor.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and site operational standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the processing area.

Requirements
Education:

  • Minimum of OND / NCE / HND in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Mining Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience operating mineral processing equipment, preferably air float machines.
  • Basic mechanical and process knowledge of mineral separation techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in mining operations.

Skills:

3.) Rapid Magnetic Separator Operator

Job Location: Jos, Plateau
Department: Mineral Processing / Plant Operations
Reports To: Plant Supervisor / Chief Process Operator

Job Summary

  • The Rapid Magnetic Separator Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the rapid magnetic separation equipment used to extract magnetic minerals from ore streams, including tin, columbite, zircon, and other minerals.
  • The role ensures optimal machine performance, high mineral recovery rates, and strict adherence to safety, operational, and environmental standards.
  • The operator assists in troubleshooting minor faults and ensures accurate recording of operational data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate the rapid magnetic separator according to standard operating procedures.
  • Feed mineral slurry into the separator at the correct rate and monitor separation efficiency.
  • Adjust machine parameters such as magnetic intensity, feed rate, and rotor speed to optimize recovery.
  • Perform routine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance of the separator.
  • Identify and report equipment faults, irregularities, or performance issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of operational data, production output, and mineral recovery.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the processing area.
