1.) General Manager

Job Brief
- We are looking for a General Manager for our sister company The Bodega Emporium (a grocery store and café) to oversee all staff, budgets and operations of the business.
- General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies.
- To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise.

Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations for the grocery store and cafe
- Design strategy and set goals for growth
- Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
- Direct the employee assessment process
- Prepare regular reports for upper management
- Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
- Manage policies and processes
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
- Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
- Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses
- Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
Requirements and Skills
- BSc / BA in Business or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
- Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
- Experience in planning and budgeting
- Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
- Strong analytical ability

- MUST have worked in the hospitality industry.
2.) Grocery Store Procurement Specialist
Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time
Job Description / Responsibilities
- A procurement specialist facilitates purchases from outside suppliers to keep a business running.
- Their primary responsibilities include researching key suppliers, negotiating purchase agreements, and ensuring all products and materials meet company standards.
- Market research for popular brands and fastest selling products
- Devise sourcing strategies
- Discover solid suppliers and initiate business partnerships
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms and conditions
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
- Ensure goods purchased are in accordance with specified requirements and match given specifications.
- Advise on methods to improve receiving, storing, inventory and distributing materials and supplies; and maintain stock control records.
- Verify quantities of goods delivered, inspect for damage; and sign delivery tags
- Warehousing and inventory control
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
- Identify and establish effective pricing strategies
- Manage the purchase of frozen, fresh and dry items
- Prepare and maintain records concerning the receipt and issuance of materials
- Confer with user departments and provide cost information for budgeting purposes
- Negotiate for favorable terms for purchase, e.g. discounts and credit, and follow up with the Finance Department to ensure that payments are made to the suppliers promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.Sc in relevant fields.
- 3 - 5 years of relevant procurement experience specifically in Fresh, Frozen and Dry items.
- Excellent sourcing and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently
- Working knowledge of the principles and practices of established store keeping procedures, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials and supplies, and of standard inventory methods and techniques.
- Well developed computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office suites.
- Ability to maintain a computer inventory control system and analyze pertinent factors such as usage patterns, stock availability, shelf life related to stocking minimum and maximum levels.
- Report to supervisor on variances and status on a regular basis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
3.) Head Chef
Job Location: Lagos

Job Brief
- We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to organise the kitchen’s activities.
- You will be the first in command in the facilities and will create and inspect dishes before they arrive at the customers ensuring high quality and contentment.
Responsibilities
- Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
- Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
- Approve and polish dishes before they reach the customer
- Be in charge of training kitchen staff
- Oversee the work of subordinates
- Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
- Arrange for repairs when necessary
- Remedy any problems or defects
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-oworkers
Requirements
- Degree in Culinary science or related certificate.
- Proven experience as Head Chef. Minimum 3 years.
- Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
- Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
- Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
- Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
- Credentials in health and safety training.
4.) Pastry Chef
Job Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Job Description
- We are looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries or other sweet goods.
- Your skill in baking high quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new amazing tastes and recipes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes
- Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
- Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
- Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
- Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently
- Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel
- Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role
- Great attention to detail and creativity
- Organizing and leadership skills
- Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
- Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
