Harvesters International Christian Centre is a church based organization whose mission is to change lives and raise leaders.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Junior Accountant

Job Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full Time

Job Responsibilities

• Preparing financial statements and reporting are a large part of the junior accountant’s day-to-day work.
• The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
• Assist with reviewing expenses, payroll records, etc. as assigned.
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
• Update accounts payable and performs reconciliations
• Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
• Assist with other accounting projects as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements / Skills

• HND / B.Sc / BA in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field
• 7 years of relevance of work experience as accountant or finance officer in a faith based, NGO or any other fast pace organization
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) is a plus but not required
• Excellent organizing abilities
• Great attention to detail
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. SAP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – MS- Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
