Job Position: Senior Laravel Developer

About the Role

• The incumbent will be responsible for developing, recording and maintaining cutting-edge web-based applications on portal plus premium service platforms.
• He or she will build innovative, state-of-the-art applications and collaborate with the entire dev team.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building and maintaining scalable software systems that power our products and infrastructures.
• Building and maintain high-performance APIs and backend systems
• Write clean and maintainable code with good test coverage.
• Implement new features in collaboration with our design team.
• Optimize existing code with special attention to performance and maintainability.
• Lead writing and maintaining the documentation of code and architecture.
• Review other engineer’s code and guide architecture decisions.
• Contribute creatively to the future product roadmap.
• Working with engineers, product managers, designers to turn bring our product vision to life.

The Ideal Person
The Ideal Candidate must have;

• Proficient knowledge of RDBMS (MySQL/MS SQL/PostgreSQL), database designing and query optimisation techniques
• Proficient understanding of RESTful API development and 3rd party integrations
• Good core knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, jQuery and Bootstrap framework.
• Competency in Version Control with Git, Bitbucket or GitHub
• Solid understanding of the various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with unit and integration testing, and testing frameworks/libraries..
• Be Creative, solution-driven and a customer-focused mindset.
• Experience in micro-services development is a plus
• Experience in developing a Payments or Fintech product(s).

Job Position: Senior Java Engineer

Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos + Virtual
Reporting Line: Chief Technology Officer

Job Purpose

• The purpose of this role is to build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code. The incumbent will deliver high quality code that complies with design specifications, meets security and Java / JEE best practices and contribute to all phases of software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Create the formal design documentation as required
• Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Translate requirements and use cases into functional applications
• Develop code that complies with design specifications and meets security and Java/JEE best practices.
• Design, develop and maintain back-end services with a focus on high availability, low latency and scalability.
• Conduct code reviews, as requested, to comply with coding standards
• Produce and maintain high-quality technical process documentation.

The Ideal Person
The Ideal candidate must have:

• Minimum 5 years of professional Java development experience
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies
• Experience working with Hibernate, Oracle, and MySQL, PostgreSQL databases
• Experience with creating, managing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience working with Spring Framework
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Experience with, or understanding of CI/CD, AWS infrastructure services, Docker.
• Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle
• Experience with Automated quality assurance testing, jMeter, unit, and functional testing
• Experience developing, profiling, and troubleshooting Java application code and automated testing tools
• Knowledge and experience in EFK, Kakfa, AWS Cloud environments, docker containers
• Experience in containerization of Springboot microservices
• Financial Services or banking industry experience preferred

Job Position: Technical Project Manager

Job Purpose

• The purpose of this role is to manage the technical projects, incumbent will partner with leadership, production and technical teams to develop product roadmaps and ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Create user stories & acceptance criteria
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Partner with leadership, production and technical teams to develop product roadmaps.
• Backlog management, iteration, planning, and elaboration of the user stories
• Participate in the technical design, and the development of functional specifications
• Lead the development team
• Ensure clean and well-documented code
• Manage the project to ensure successful delivery
• Track and report project progress
• Manage communication with all stakeholders
• Remove blockers, manage risks to help team deliver on the company's goals and objectives

The Ideal Person
The Ideal candidate must have;

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Leadership experience and strong teaming abilities
• Minimum 2 Years of experience in IT project management or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Solid understanding of software development life-cycle best practices
• An ability to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining strong attention to detail
• Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluent in English
• A problem-solving, analytical mindset and strong decision-making capabilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients
• Effectively lead teams and inspire others to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence
• Experience in troubleshooting, software development processes and ability to understand and implement client requirements.
• Possesses good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures and various compatibility requirements.
• Solid knowledge of technical development concepts, latest software tools and technologies, strong database concepts and designing techniques.
