Our client, a nascent, budding and vibrant Microfinance Bank in Lagos State, has engaged us to recruit competent and suitable candidates with outstanding track record in Financial Institution Management for the following key Executive/Top Management position,
Job Position: Managing Director/CEO
Job Location: Lagos
THE JOB:
The Managing Director/CEO, who shall report directly to the Board of Directors, has the overall responsibility of initiating, planning and effectively executing the overall strategy and efficient operation of the Bank, to stay ahead of competition and maximally achieve its vision, mission and long-term goals. The specific duties and responsibilities of the position include: setting the overall strategic direction of the company, working hand-in-hand with the Board of Directors; planning and implementing the short-term, medium-term and long term business strategy of the Bank to achieve its overall objectives; developing and maintaining an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the products, services and image of the bank in the wider community; setting annual bank-wide KPIs to drive, monitor and evaluate the company’s performance in all areas; driving and running the corporate and business plan, while monitoring progress against this plan at a most professional, cost-conscious and profitable manner; maintaining effective dialogue between shareholders and the Board; reporting the result of performance against budgets and forecasts - monthly, quarterly and annually to the Board; effectively managing the human and physical resources of the bank for peak performance; and carrying out other tasks and responsibilities, as may be assigned by the Chairman - Board of Directors.
Qualifications and Competency Requirements: The ideal candidate must:
- Have minimum of first degree or its equivalent in business administration, banking and finance, economics, accounting, social science, or any other relevant discipline.
- Have minimum of 10 years relevant post-qualification experience, out of which at least 7 must be in the financial service industry, and at least 5 at the Management Level.
- Have practical experience in Microfinance Banking and must have undergone the Microfinance Certification Programme and obtained a Certificate in Microfinance Banking issued by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
Other required skills and competency requirements include:
- A proven record of success in senior management level, preferably in the microfinance banking industry.
- A wide knowledge of the microfinance banking industry.
- An understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques.
- Analytical and presentational skills.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements.
- A very high level of commercial awareness.
- Outstanding Leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and strategic management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

The salary packages for each of the two positions are attractive, competitive, sensitive to present economic conditions, and are negotiable - plus several other benefits and allowances that go with each of the two positions.
