Job Summary
- We are looking to hire a reliable and well-experienced Workshop Engineering Mechanical Manager to join our capable team of professionals.
- To be successful in this role, the Workshop Mechanical Engineering Manager will be in charge of maintaining, debugging, and fixing mechanical machinery and equipment.
- To minimize downtime and boost production, this position entails managing the workshop's operations, ensuring the equipment operates effectively, and implementing preventative maintenance plans.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations in the workshop, ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and used properly.
- Maintain an organized and safe working environment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity and reliability of all machinery and equipment.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and reliability of machinery and workshop processes.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory. Prepare reports on equipment status and performance.
- Good knowledge of operating and maintaining various workshop machinery including tractors, harvesters, planters, irrigation systems, and processing equipment.
- Perform regular diagnostics and repair of agricultural machinery and equipment including tractors, bulldozers, harvesters, planters, and processing equipment.
- Use diagnostics tools and equipment to identify mechanical faults and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
- Ensure all activities in the workshop comply with health and safety regulations. Promote a safety-first culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role within the agribusiness sector or a related industry.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing agricultural machinery.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and machining processes.
- Competency in using computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and leadership abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
