Job Position: Electrical Engineer

Job Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities


  • Develop and review requirements, specifications, and drawings for mechanical and electrical systems elements
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
  • Review, consult, design, and supervise site installations of all the electrical and mechanical requirements of all LDF Projects.
  • Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
  • Develop mechanical and electro-mechanical products by studying customer requirements
  • Research and analyze data, such as supplier design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Set specifications and check the design of mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems.
  • Plan, direct and coordinate all on-site M&E activities to comply with LDF and government specifications, requirements and codes.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with LDF team, as well as the public, contractors, and consultants.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
  • Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Make presentations and draft technical instructions.
  • Read blueprints to determine the ways and sequences to assemble building equipment
  • Oversee project productions efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget
  • Monitor materials submission and approvals and review updating of materials schedule to mitigate any construction delays.
  • Assist in updating and achieving schedule requirements
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Cooperate with team members in complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering systems, principles, and practices.
  • Extensive knowledge in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting engineering plans and technical specifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrification systems for lighting, fire equipment, and HVAC.
  • Extensive knowledge of Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering language and terms
  • Working knowledge of design and preparation of documents for bidding
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, consultants, the public, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow-up on the status of projects

Job Position: Mechanical Engineer

Job Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities
Business Management:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of mechanical engineering projects across geographies in oil and gas sector including, but not limited to bidding, project management and project hand-over.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with clients
  • Stay abreast of market developments and technology developments in engineering related to field of work.
  • Manage, coach and guide the team members of the business division
  • Regular and accurate reporting to the management on timely basis
  • Assist in maintain books of accounts for the business.

Pre-bid:

  • Drive pre-bid evaluation of projects to understand scope of work involved and device plan of execution
  • Validate basic engineering, including design, and develop accurate quantification of the scope.
  • Co-ordinate with engineering team and estimation team to ensure accuracy at the time of sourcing of projects.
  • Identify and highlight technical risks in projects on the basis of tender documents, contracts and site visits.

Engineering and Coordination:

  • Drive engineering an execution of all mechanical projects in oil and gas sector
  • Identify and implement value engineering initiatives in projects
  • Ensure timely execution of all engineering activities as per project timelines
  • Co-ordinate with clients and manage expectations for each project.
  • Co-ordinate with external stakeholders, such as consultants and authorities, to ensure timely completion of deliverables and tasks as planned
  • Co-ordinate with internal stakeholders including procurement and construction teams to ensure consistent understanding with regards to technical requirements for different scope of work, within the project team.
  • Manage all engineering documentation required throughout project lifecycle.

Execution:

  • Supervise project work for all mechanical projects undertaken by the division and coordinating with all departments and contractors
  • Approval of construction procedure, quality plan & inspections test procedure
  • Erection and commissioning supervision of equipment including gas compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, KOD’s Separators etc.
  • Erection and commissioning of high-pressure piping for oil gas and other utility service lines.
  • Supervision & monitoring of activities related to pipeline laying, hydrostatic testing and commissioning of pipeline.
  • Reviewing and resolving all engineering problems
  • Coordinating with client and contractor.
  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
  • Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance
  • Review the work progress on daily basis.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences
  • Analyse, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Others:

  • Manage technical requirements of service contracts
  • Drive design and engineering requirements for such contracts
  • Co-ordinate with product development, product procurement and services teams
  • Support execution teams on any technical challenges in this respect through effective problem-solving approach
  • This role will ensure that work is being performed safely, as designed, and to the highest quality standards.
  • This role will perform daily safety and quality inspections, produce appropriate documentation, and implement corrective measures if required.

Requirements

  • PMP Certified project management professional
  • Graduate or Post-graduate Degree in Engineering with Mechanical Degree and 20 to 25 years experience in project management and construction supervision of petrochemical, refinery, power plant (including gasification plant) and cross-country piping.
  • Hands-on experience in delivering large scale multi-million-dollar projects in record timeframes.
  • Experience in project management, Control, Co-ordination, Planning, Construction execution, including hands in contracts / Bidding, Review/ finalisation of engineering, etc for hydrocarbon projects of Pipelines, Piping / Process Piping, Mechanical constructions, Equipment, Structural, with Associated works of civil / E&I /Telecom/ Fire Fighting systems / gas detection system / CP works.
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with all levels within the organization as well as with outside agencies such as Licensor, Consultants, Vendors, Contractors and Statutory Authorities.
  • Demonstrated team building, relationship building and communication skills. Strong experience in working closely with various cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrated track record in leading and motivating team members so as to achieve project objectives. Should have assisted the team to resolve conflicts.
  • Ethical and loyal, and can be relied upon for maintaining high degree of confidentiality
  • Experience of working in Nigeria and other African countries would be given preference
  • In-depth experience with mechanical, process piping, and equipment installation in an industrial setting is essential.

Job Position: Instrumentation & Control Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Perform work, generally within Control System Engineering, which involves the preparation, interpretation or review of calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, surveys, structures systems or equipment with complex features.
  • Participate in one or more of the following: Development of system requirements, Automated Control System design, development, and/or maintenance, System design, including concept sketches and layouts, Automated Control and Human Machine Interface (HMI) Software Development.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree in the related field or equivalent years of experience will be considered.
  • 10 Years of Power Plant Controls experience is desirable, however other industrial plant controls experience will be considered (for example oil & gas/petrochemical).

Job Position: Company Secretary / Legal Adviser

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive and efficient legal advice/opinion to support the corporate and operational business functions on contractual, financial, tax and regulatory matters affecting the company.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other documents required by the business functions.
  • Provide efficient legal support to the technical and operations aspects of the business, as required.
  • Provide support to business functions and project teams in conducting due diligence on all transactions that portend legal, commercial and or reputational risks.
  • Advise relevant stakeholders on dispute resolution issues and support them through the entire resolution process.
  • Provide legal advice on contractual and regulatory compliance in all functions, ensuring that material risks have remedial plans and are integrated into the corporate risk management system.
  • Provide efficient Secretariat support to the Company, including without limitation, maintaining accurate and up-to-date incorporation/regulatory documents, preparing for Board meetings, taking accurate Minutes of meetings, including regulatory compliance/advisory.
  • Provide support in preparing all necessary documentation and give guidance in order to secure appropriate regulatory approval for various projects and acquisitions.

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Law is required. Must be qualified to practice as a lawyer in Nigeria and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
  • An MBA, a Master's Degree, other professional qualifications such ACA, ACCA, ICSA, ACIT, etc. will be an added advantage.
  • Possess a broad skill set in corporate law, finance, governance, strategy and company secretarial practice
  • At least 5 years post-call experience in an international commercial law firm or similar post-call experience with a mid-sized or major E&P company.
  • Ample litigation experience will be an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years working experience with an International Oil & Gas firm or company.
  • Experience with corporate and operational regulatory compliance in the Oil & Gas industry.
