We design, build and operate the lowest cost hybrid (solar and biomass) power plant and distribution network in India and Africa. To date, Husk has provided electricity to over 15,000 homes and business, reducing 95,000 tonnes of CO2. Our aim is to provide 30MW of power to 225,000 customers by 2025, and save 350,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
1.) Logistics Coordinator
Job Location: Lafia, Nasarawa
Employment Type: Full-time
Division / Function: Projects & Installation
Reports to: Project Manager
Role Summary
- We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team in Nigeria. As a logistics coordinator at Husk, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our projects receive timely and efficient logistical support.
- Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver sustainable energy solutions to communities in need.

Key Responsibilities
General:
- Play a key part as a member of the Installation Team in driving site installation targets.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and other members of the Nigerian Team to deliver on business objectives.
- Support the optimization of various Husk NG activities to ensure best practices are entrenched towards more efficient processes.
Transportation and Distribution:
- Arrange transportation of materials to project sites in coordination with logistics service providers.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of logistics service providers capable of delivering items to and from our mini-grid locations.
- Monitor transportation schedules and resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare delivery documents, checklists, and other paperwork necessary for logistics operations.
- Prepare regular reports on logistics activities, including inventory levels, transportation schedules, and delivery performance.
- Analyse logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Present findings and recommendations to management to support decision-making processes.
Stakeholder Management:
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with local communities affected by minigrid projects.
- Communicate effectively with community leaders, residents, and other stakeholders to address concerns and promote understanding of project benefits.
- Liaise with internal teams to coordinate logistics activities and meet project timelines and deliverables
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders such as suppliers, contractors, and transportation providers to ensure seamless operations.
Safety Compliance:
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures for all logistics activities related to the minigrid, including transportation of equipment and materials.
- Conduct or coordinate safety training programs for team members and external parties involved in equipment movement ensuring all personnel involved in logistics operations are aware of and adhere to safety standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments of logistics operations and identify potential hazards. Develop mitigation plans to address these risks.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance documents related to logistics operations.
Site Installation:
- Support the team in the installation of solar equipment like Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules, and electrical equipment.
- Support the team in the installation of powerhouse equipment such as MPPT chargers, inverters, batteries, battery cabinets, and AC distribution boxes.
- Support the team in the installation of distribution network assets.
- Maintain periodic status reports, including daily activity reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Report and escalate issues to the Project Manager as needed.
Qualifications
General Skills & Attributes:
- Deep understanding of electrical components, systems, and their applications in mini-grid projects.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and documentation related to electrical equipment.
- Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management practices, including inventory control, and transportation logistics.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to maintain orderly records, documentation, and reporting related to logistics operations
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, project needs, and logistics challenges.
- Experience in coordinating logistics activities to support project timelines and requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical and logistical challenges effectively.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to procurement, inventory management, and transportation of electrical materials.
- Willingness to adjust logistics strategies and plans based on project requirements and operational constraints.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory requirements specific to handling electrical materials and equipment.
Additional Information:
Location and Travel:
- This role is based in Nasarawa, Nigeria
- This position may require occasional travel to project sites or supplier locations.
- Flexible work hours may be necessary to accommodate logistics activities outside regular business hours.
Remuneration
Salary: N200,000 - N300,000 Monthly.

2.) Health and Safety Officer

- Husk is seeking a Health and Safety Officer, to join the QHSSE team in Nigeria towards achieving its targets.
- This individual will be responsible for implementing and coordinating in all Health and Safety (H&S) programs within the company’s operations.
- In addition, helping in development of the health and safety culture at sites and operational plants.
- The individual must be passionate about contributing to solving one of Nigeria’s most critical challenges – the energy access deficit.
- This position provides the opportunity to join a growing team that is changing the face of rural electrification in many countries including India and Nigeria etc.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and Deliver Safety Programs:
- Conduct Tool Box Talks to educate employees on safe work procedures and hazard awareness.
- Prepare and deliver safety training programs to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to work safely.
Maintain a Safe Work Environment:
- Conduct regular inspections of tools, tackles, equipment, and machinery to identify and address potential hazards.
- Ensure all field employees and third party contractors wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for their tasks.
- Monitor work practices to identify and address unsafe behaviors.
Incident Management:
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop preventative measures.
- Prepare comprehensive accident and incident reports for documentation and future analysis.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all required safety procedures and safe operating procedures are readily available in the workplace.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety inspections, training sessions, accidents, and incidents.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Maintain and inspect first-aid kits and fire extinguishers at all workplaces, ensuring they are readily available and in proper working order.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for fire, evacuation, and other potential hazards.
- Conduct regular fire drills, rescue drills, evacuation drills, and mock drills to ensure employee preparedness.
Safety Awareness and Training:
- Design and deliver safety training programs for new joiners and existing employees to educate them on safe work practices, hazard identification, and emergency procedures.
- Develop and display safety-related signage and posters throughout the workplace to promote safety awareness and compliance.
Compliance and Collaboration:
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory changes to maintain a proactive approach to safety.
Required Skills & Attributes
- 2-3 years of experience preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- A thorough and practical knowledge of occupational safety laws and regulations.
- Problem solver and can identify issues and possible solutions swiftly.
- A graduate in Engineering/Science is preferred with a diploma in Industrial Safety/Construction Safety.

- Ensure adherence to all environmental and safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in our environmental performance and social responsibility practices.
- Secure adequate resources for effective E&S program execution.
Risk Management and Proactive Approach:
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential E&S risks within operations.
- Conduct thorough investigations of operational E&S incidents, ensuring proper record keeping and reporting.
Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive E&S training programs for all employees across the organization.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility through knowledge sharing and awareness initiatives.
Required Skills & Attributes
- 5-7 years of proven experience in developing and implementing E&S programs preferably in the renewable energy industry.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
- Have a learning mindset and are keen to deliver hands-on solutions in the field.
- Be a problem solver and can identify issues and possible solutions swiftly.
- In-depth knowledge of safety principles and risk management techniques.
- A thorough and practical knowledge of Centre, State and Local social & environmental laws and regulations.
- At least one year of supervisory experience
- Can also ideally execute based on direct instruction and under guidance from other members of the team.
