We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
1.) Senior Front-End Engineer
Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Overall Purpose of the Job
- Pre-FEED activities include pre-feasibility, feasibility studies, Basis of Design, Scope of Work etc. As such manages the overall Project Front-End Engineering Integration. Responsible for integrating all discipline contributions into the overall technical design concept.
- Provide subject matter/technical authority contribution to the Front-end /Conceptual engineering function of SEPLAT Corporate Engineering department.
- Responsible for providing all front-end engineering support i.e. from pre-initiation to Concept Selection, Pre-FEED activities, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) packages and oftentimes Post-FEED/Detailed Engineering Design essential for seamless execution of ongoing and future Oil & Gas field development plans. Responsible for integration of pre-FEED projects within Seplat Projects.
- This includes integration with upstream development, oil/gas processing, utilities, asset hydrocarbon evacuation, downstream facilities, and various engineering discipline studies, R&D etc spanning Revamp, Brownfield and Greenfield projects.
Principal Accountabilities
Conceptual Studies Management:
- Participate in opportunity framing workshops for production system optimization and debottlenecking opportunities which may involve an external facilitator.
- Carry out (or give input in, if carried out by others) multi-discipline studies in support of development options while taking into account the input of other functions into development plans.
- Collaborate with the lead Economist to produce economic screening calculations and modelling of identified concepts
- Lead new technology scouting and applications for surface facilities to ensure technical & operational excellence and reduction in total lifecycle cost of production.
- Collaborate with the heads of Business Development and Corporate Planning to produce economic screening calculations and modelling of identified field development concepts
- Coordinate engineering data and inputs required during Asset Acquisition/New Business Development
- Formulate development concepts for new field developments and major modifications, determining the optimum commercial/business solution, in support of the asset, exploration and commercial business plans.
- Expert in early stages of development and identify, screen and develop alternative development options. Ensure opportunities and project are well defined and framed so that they can be executed within realistic budgets and timeframes.
- Lead new business development activities, functional initiatives, training, engineering technology needs, manage internal and external technical work performed by specialist consultancies.
- Lead conceptual development and evaluations provided by Engineering team for new asset acquisitions, farm-in opportunities and other international ventures as well as provide technical advice on Facility Development Concepts to subsurface professionals, economics and new business teams.
Front-End Engineering Management:
- Plan, Initiate, Coordinate and Manage all Front-End Engineering phase activities for a project required to provide basic engineering development to a conceptual design or appraisal which enables a detailed scope, schedule and cost estimate to be prepared as the basis of detailed design development.
- Manage Front-end Study from initiation to close-out activities, including preparation of hold lists, clearing cost commitments, cash commitments, and capturing “lessons learned”
- Manage the technical evaluation/due diligence study for new asset development or acquisition exercise.
- Single point accountable to the Corporate Engineering Manager for all the aspects of front-end engineering coordination and management for the assigned areas or significant work scopes. Consults with the Head of Discipline Engineering and Corporate Engineering Manager as required.
- Ensure that all front-end engineering-related HSE issues have been addressed and systems are in place to manage same.
Engineering Process Management:
- Formulate and lead the development of engineering concepts, front-end for in-field and near-field opportunities and infrastructural projects associated with existing producing assets to sustain and increase oil and gas production. Understand, assemble, and coordinate all of the disciplines, specialties and 3rd party consultants that front-end engineering activity comprises.
- Steer and gain support for opportunities via the Seplat Hydrocarbon Maturation Process (HCMP) to ensure appropriate resource usage, planning and business controls are applied
- Provides support to and delegates for the Lead Process Engineer/TA.
- Carries the duties and responsibilities for Chief Process Engineer and coordination of Conceptual Studies, Concept Optimization and FEED
- Supervise, Coach, Mentor and Develop young Engineers in the organization.
Job Knowledge and Qualification
- B.Sc Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or any related fields.
- Professional membership and certification: NSE and COREN
- 12 - 17 years experience in the Oil & Gas / E&P industry
- Must have worked as Senior Concept/Front-End Engineer for minimum of 5 years with an IOC or EPC contractor involving both onshore and offshore projects
- Understanding of Full project lifecycle exposure.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant standards, norms and regulations
- Experience in Process Studies, Conceptual Design, FEED, Detail design in both green and brown field developments.
- Skilled with Hysys for Process Simulation and Pipesim for Hydraulic Simulation will be an added advantage.
2.) Senior Planning Engineer
Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract
Purpose
- The role is responsible for all functions relating to planning, scheduling, control and reporting, in order to provide sound planning advice and interpretation to PMT and other stakeholders to facilitate quality decision making and project delivery.
Accountabilities
- Lead the planning and scheduling support required in the execution of Engineering projects and activities.
- Develop and update project planning procedures for the Engineering function.
- Evaluate the planning and scheduling information collected from Project Management Teams or Contractors, and advise Management of expectations to the plan and potential corrective action and/or impacts to the project.
- Develop Project Work breakdown structure (WBS) using the Primavera project planning and scheduling and tools.
- Develop and maintain up to Level 3 & 4 Primavera schedule for assigned Engineering projects and activities and provide critical path analysis.
- Advise PMT of potential risks and delays to project and its impact so that it can be mitigated.
- Develop and maintain resource loaded schedule and baseline. Provide scenarios schedule forecast. Carry out resource allocation and develop project manpower histogram.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress project report with progress curve. Facilitate and coordinate Project progress meeting with PMT and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project measurement system as well as Earn Value and Variance Analysis. Daily and weekly Monitoring physical work progress and comparing it with baseline to alert PMT.
- Deliver timely, accurate and sensitive project controls information that facilitates a clear understanding of the performance of the project in relation to planned performance targets.
- Review and monitor schedule and progress submitted by contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support PMT in preparation of Project slide for engagement with Management and other stakeholders.
- Assessing and identifying potential risks, evaluating to ensure that they are appropriately mitigated through properly implemented policies and actions, procedures, training, systems and controls.
- Develop and maintain risk-based schedule and provide risk scenarios forecast. Advise PMT of potential risks and delays to project and its impact so that it can be mitigated.
Minimum Qualification
Educational Background:
- Technical degree
- Project Management certification is an added advantage
- Project Risk Management certification is an added advantage.
Industry experience:
- Minimum of 10 years experience in an E&P major projects environment.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in Project Planning/Project Risk planning.
Competencies:
- Expert in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project planning tool
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, along with the ability to apply those skills across various business processes.
- Strong communication skills (i.e. report writing and presentation) are essential.
- Team player
- Good inter-personal and leadership skills.
