Job Position: Operations Manager

Job Brief

• An Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and smooth functioning of various aspects of the operation. The duties of an operations manager include but not limited to:

Job Responsibilities
Production Management:

• Overseeing the production of cakes and other baked goods to ensure they meet quality and consistency standards. (Standard Recipe and processes)
• Monitoring inventory of ingredients, baking supplies, and finished products.
• Supervising the formulation of new recipes
• Scheduling production runs to meet customer demand while minimizing waste.
• Monitoring finished goods are delivered at the right time

Quality Control:

• Implementing and maintaining quality control measures to ensure all cakes meet the company's standards for taste, appearance, and freshness.
• Conducting regular inspections and quality checks on finished products.

Staff Management:

• Training, and supervising bakery staff, including bakers, decorators, and kitchen assistants.
• Creating work schedules and managing staff performance.
• Managing supplier relationships and negotiating terms for ingredient and equipment purchases.
• Ensuring adequate staff coverage at all times
• Ensuring that employees adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
• Monitoring inventory levels and optimizing stock to reduce wastage and ensure timely restocking.

Cost Control:

• Developing and managing budgets for bakery operations.
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality.

Customer Service:

• Ensuring exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
• Implementing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Monitoring environmental cleanliness at all times
• Monitoring orders incoming and outgoing.

Compliance and Food Safety:

• Ensuring the bakery complies with all relevant health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and licensing requirements.
• Conducting regular sanitation and hygiene inspections.

Process Improvement:

• Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
• Implementing new processes or technology to streamline operations.

Sales and Marketing Support:

• Collaborating with the sales and marketing teams to meet sales targets and promote new products or specials. (Bring up ideas and processes to boost sales)
• Providing input on pricing strategies based on production costs.

Problem Solving:

• Addressing operational challenges as they arise, such as equipment malfunctions or staffing issues.
• Developing contingency plans for unforeseen circumstances.

Maintaining Equipment and Facilities:

• Overseeing the maintenance and repair of bakery equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working order at every given time

Reporting and Analysis:

• Generating reports on production, sales, and inventory levels.
• Analyzing data to make informed decisions about production and inventory management.

Skills / Requirements

• HND / BSc. Business Administration or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in operations management.

Salary
N120,000 - N150,000 based on experience.
