Job Overview


  • Our client is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Procurement Officer who will be responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services for their company.
  • The procurement officer will work closely with the estimation team to ensure that the company gets the best possible prices for the goods and services needed.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • To adopt the most cost-effective purchasing processes to achieve the best total acquisition cost and balance the requirements of internal customers & Procurement.
  • Development of an effective information system that provides optimal support to the whole estimation team.
  • Ensure that the appropriate metrics, i.e. measurement tools, are in place and being used effectively to monitor and explain overall procurement and vendor performance
  • On the relationship between procurement and all its internal & external customers at market level.
  • Responsible for approving supplier selection for categories managed at an end-market level.
  • Create and nurture an environment in which ethical and professional business values underlie all facets of procurement activity
  • Responsible for implementing category strategies and sourcing plans at the end market level.
  • Develop a consistent approach such as internal SLA and vendor performance monitoring in all day-to-day tasks.
  • Challenge demand requirements and manage client expectations to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure delivery of all construction materials needed on site.
  • Communicate appropriate supply chain and procurement messages regarding strategies, processes, and policies to everyone, to ensure compliance and a common understanding of goals and targets.
  • Understanding of financial evaluation and interpretation of supplier’s records and their key cost and business drivers.
  • Manage customer relationships and company projects, especially to execute category and sourcing strategies at the end market level.
  • Ensure proper tracking of master agreements and contracts to ensure the availability of up-to-date and accurate information

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain management or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in procurement, contract management, or supply chain management
  • Experience in construction items on both the mainland and island is a plus and very needed
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, and demonstrated ability to synthesize information from many sources
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • A male candidate will be preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • In-depth understanding of procurement processes, construction materials, and industry standards.
  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or similar certification.
