Job Description

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and fostering a relationship with our suppliers and vendors. You will also oversee the implementation of the supply and production strategies and the entire supply chain management

Responsibilities

• Responsible for procuring goods and services for company use at well negotiated rate
• Undertaking periodic vendor evaluation exercises and selecting best vendors based on established criteria of quality, cost and capacity to deliver.
• Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
• Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
• Negotiating contracts, and reviewing product quality.
• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
• Reviewing and processing of purchase orders.
• Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
• Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
• Managing other members of the purchasing team.
• Liaising with Inventory Control to ensure effective inventory management including keeping records of goods ordered and received.
• Builds and maintains relationships with Suppliers, vendors etc.
• Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
• Liaising with Facilities Management to ensure effective maintenance of office/manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Sc or equivalent in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or related field
• 5 - 10 years of purchasing experience.
• Strong negotiation skills
• Good numerical skills
• High level of integrity and honesty
• Experience in printing and packaging or related industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
