Job Position: Senior Civil Engineer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our construction team.
• The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
• This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and design of civil engineering projects, including site development, infrastructure, and building construction.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure adherence to project timelines and financial targets.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop project specifications and requirements.
• Perform quality control inspections and ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
• Monitor construction progress and address any issues or delays that may arise during the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and construction personnel.
• Conduct site investigations and surveys to assess project feasibility and identify potential challenges or risks.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
• Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for project implementation.
• Supervise construction activities, including earthwork, grading, drainage, utilities installation, and road construction.
• Prepare progress reports, presentations, and other project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in civil engineering and construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
• Professional licensure as a Civil Engineer required. e.g COREN
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil engineering and construction, with a focus on site development and infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in construction practices.
