Job Summary

  • The Store Inventory Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting store inventory data to provide insights and recommendations that optimize inventory management and drive operational efficiencies.
  • This role involves gathering, cleaning, and analyzing large sets of data from various sources, identifying trends, and communicating findings to stakeholders.
  • The Store Inventory Data Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and implement data-driven solutions to improve inventory accuracy, reduce stockouts, and maximize sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, and clean large volumes of inventory data from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and data mining techniques to identify patterns, trends, and correlations within inventory data.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to determine optimal inventory targets based on demand forecasts and sales data.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and provide recommendations for markdowns, promotions, or inventory liquidation.
  • Monitor and track inventory performance metrics, such as inventory turnover, stockouts, and fill rates, and propose strategies for improvement
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify factors impacting inventory levels, stockouts, and excess inventory.
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions, statistical software, and data visualization tools to analyze and present data in a clear and actionable format.
  • Develop and maintain inventory forecasting models to optimize inventory levels and reduce holding costs.
  • Collaborate with the tech team to develop automated inventory reporting tools and streamline data collection and analysis processes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Prepare regular inventory reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and stakeholders, highlighting key findings and actionable insights.
  • Present data-driven recommendations to cross-functional teams, including store operations, supply chain, and finance, to improve inventory management practices.
  • Develop and implement inventory control policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure accurate and timely inventory data.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in inventory management and data analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of HND in Business Analytics, Statistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a data analyst or business analyst, preferably in inventory management or retail operations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret complex data sets.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management principles, forecasting techniques, and supply chain processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
