Pipeline pigging Engineer

An Indigenous Oil and Gas Company located in Port Harcourt is recruiting to fill the position of Pigging Service Technician.

     Responsibilities/Summary of Functions:


  • Work in accordance with the company's management system.
  • Remain abreast of legislative requirements.
  • Preparation, checking and approval of design / engineering, execution documentation and data requirements.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant Codes, Standards and Procedures.
  • Provide input to, and prepare, cost estimates and execution plans.
  • Ensure delivery of all aspects of discipline design, specification and procurement to safety, cost, schedule and quality criteria.
  • Ensure technical integrity of all discipline deliverables.
  • Plan and maintain the discipline progress of the work-scope.
  • Report work progress status to the Pipeline Technical Authority and Pipeline Integrity Engineer.
  • Ensure all interfaces with other disciplines are clearly defined and correctly engineered.
  • Maintain and develop current awareness of relevant engineering technology & Codes and Standards.
  • Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel, stakeholders and contractors.
  • Implement and manage on a continuous basis a process of risk identification and management, including the management of change in order to minimize risks to work-scope delivery and objectives.
  • Implement and record feedback of lessons learned to the organization for similar future work-scopes.
  • Act on specific objective technical direction and outcome requirements to develop and deliver flawless work execution.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate PEER reviews and Risk Assessments and ensure actions are assigned and closed out in agreed timeframes.
  • Provide input and support in HAZIDs, HAZOP's, HIRAs.
  • Assist with HSE and DECC notifications, permits and consents as required.
  • Technical input for ITT packages (SOW, BOD, specifications and drawings) and perform technical evaluation and clarification of tender submissions.
  • Arrange offshore company representative visits according to the platforms' plans, coordinate and execute the works.

    Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree qualified or equivalent in suitable engineering discipline, or time served professional with relevant experience preferred. 
  • Significant experience in a wide range of North Sea subsea pipeline and riser pigging, testing and pre-commissioning activities including relevant employment with both a pigging contractor, subsea installation, intervention contractor and/or a pipeline operator· 
  • Experience shall include a range of subsea elements including both rigid and flexible pipelines risers.
