Job Description

• As a Site Engineer in the real estate and construction industry, your role is to ensure the smooth execution of construction projects on-site. You play a crucial role in translating design plans into tangible structures, overseeing construction activities, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Here are the key responsibilities of the Site Engineer:
• Construction Supervision: Oversee and manage day-to-day construction activities on-site. Ensure that work is carried out according to design specifications, approved drawings, and construction schedules. Monitor progress, resolve issues, and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
• Technical Expertise: Apply technical knowledge and understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, resolve technical queries, and provide guidance to the construction team. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to resolve design-related issues on-site.
• Resource Management: Coordinate and manage the efficient utilization of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials. Monitor resource availability, track usage, and ensure optimal productivity. Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the site.
• Quality Assurance and Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction work meets specified standards and regulations. Conduct regular inspections, perform tests, and address any deviations or non-compliance promptly. Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes and documentation.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards on the construction site. Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement appropriate safety measures. Promote a culture of safety among the construction team and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily progress reports, material quantities, and site instructions. Prepare and submit reports as required, including site diaries, snag lists, and variation orders. Keep stakeholders informed about project progress and any significant developments.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate and communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Facilitate coordination meetings, address concerns, and ensure smooth communication flow between all parties involved in the project.

Qualifications and Skills

• Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree or HND in relevant fields with 3 years work experience.
• Education and Technical Knowledge: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field is typically required. Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes is essential. Familiarity with relevant software applications and tools for construction management is beneficial. A minimum of 3 years of cognate experience is required.
• Problem-solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve construction-related issues. Analytical skills to analyze complex problems and propose effective solutions. Ability to think critically and make informed decisions under pressure.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely. Strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships with the construction team and stakeholders.
• Time Management and Organization: Effective time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple activities simultaneously. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Adaptability and Resilience: Flexibility and adaptability to work in dynamic construction environments with changing conditions and project requirements. Resilience to handle challenges and setbacks with a problem-solving mindset.
