In 1998, the British Council, Nigeria, organised a West African policy seminar on Global Knowledge in Accra as a follow up to the “Global Knowledge I Conference” held in Canada, 1997. The result of the Accra meeting made obvious the need to build Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) capacity among West African children in order to bring them to speed with global developmental trends in the nearest future.
In response to this identified gap, Digital Peers International (DPI) was initiated to help bridge the existing gap and work assiduously towards ensuring the Nigerian children/youth are equipped and grounded in ICT to use same as tool for personal, national and global development.
