Job Position: Account Officer
Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Job Type: Full-time with flexible work plan
Job Description
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Account Officer to join our finance team.
- The Account Officer will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of financial data.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Support the finance team in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Assist with tax preparation, filing, and compliance.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Monitor cash flow, track expenses, and ensure financial compliance with company policies.
- Assist in preparing for audits and work with external auditors when necessary.
- Handle any other accounting-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zohobooks) and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
