New Education Consult is a consulting firm for various schools in Lagos state. We are professions that seek to recruit high flyers in the labour market for our clients. Our clients range from Primary to Secondary School with both day and boarding faciliities with international standards. Curriculum are Nigerian, British and American taught at various levels. We ensure that employed candidates are treated as guided as the Nigerian Labour Law and international best practices.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Account Officer
Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records and keeping them up-to-date.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable.
• Create and process invoices and receipts.
• Handle queries related to accounts.
• Track organization expenses
• Cross-check invoices with payments and expenses to ensure accuracy.
• Handle bank reconciliation and postings.
• Resolve accounts to the general ledger.
• Contact clients about transactions and invoices.
• Communicate with customers regarding billing and payments
• Manage the organization’s accounts payables and receivables.
• Work with collection agencies on PAYE, Company income tax and federal /state payables.

Requirements

• HND / B.Sc. Accounting / Financial Accounting / Banking & Finance
• Proven work experience as an Accounting Officer in a school environment
• Able to work well within a team.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and QuickBooks.
• Solid analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented.
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with the state and federal requirements.
• Knowledge of accepted business practices, budget preparation and administration, risk management, purchasing, transportation, food services, school plant operations and facility planning, or is willing and able to study and attend training to gain this knowledge.
