We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting Relationship: Group Head

Job Duties / Responsibilities Accountabilities
Strategy, Vision and Leadership:


  • Advise the MD and other key members of the senior management on optimal project and program planning and delivery, project and program control and fulfilment strategies and operations, investment priorities and related policy matters.
  • Drive efficient and effective operations with best practices delivered practically and a high performance team
  • Ensure high impact measurable improvements in business operations, quality standards, time optimisation and financial performance
  • Contribute significantly to the development of the company’s strategic goals and objectives, execution as well as the overall management of the organization.
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the MD informed of all critical issues.
  • Represent the organisation externally, as necessary

Team Development / Leadership:

  • Oversee, direct and organise the work of the Group Project Management Office and
  • The Academy teams for optimal efficiency and effectiveness
  • Establish and monitor team performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct periodic performance appraisals, and facilitate career growth.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and demonstrates a commitment to quality
  • Ensure team members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.

External Relationship Development:

  • Manage and cultivate existing relationships with clients, partners, regulators, key suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure effective project and program delivery and overall group performance.
  • Grow business volume with existing clients by delivering projects optimally, securing additional value adding opportunities, and strengthening client relationships

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all programs and services. Implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout the program and service areas, focusing on systems/process improvement
  • Ensure that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of the group

Qualifications

  • Solid educational background. Undergraduate degree required, MBA or similar advanced degree highly desired
  • Professional Qualification Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience and a consistent track record of delivery in senior management. Experience in Consulting/Professional Services and/or IT would be a distinct advantage
  • Age: 35 - 50
