Description


  • We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as Deputy Head of Finance at the Dangote Cement Obajana, Kogi State.
  • As the Deputy Head of Finance, you will play a critical role in overseeing the finance function to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
  • In this position, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and collaborate closely with other departments within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Finance in strategic financial planning and analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Drive the implementation of approved finance policies and procedures.
  • Manage the fixed asset accounting process and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments on financial assessment of projects and business plans.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
  • Optimize the utilization of financial resources and identify strategies for cost efficiency.
  • Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes and ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports for management.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to improve financial performance.
  • Identify and manage financial risks to prevent revenue leakage.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities and consultants.
  • Lead and mentor finance team members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, challenges, and opportunities related to finance and accounting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, ACCA) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
