Job Summary
- Develops and maintains up to date all the relevant technical, as-built and maintenance related documentation.
- Responsible for ensuring that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date and accessible to the stakeholders; working close to the Country Operations teams across the GEM South region.
- Collaborates with Regional and Global Operations Engineering teams supporting the IBX Operations teams to deliver Operational Excellence, and ensures compliance with our operations KPIs, SLAs and H&S requirements.
- Ensures that the technical documentation and RAMS documents provided by suppliers and necessary to carry out certain activities in our data centers comply with Equinix global policies.
Responsibilities
Technical Support:
- Maintains and organizes in proper folders the O&M documentation, consistently and maintaining exhaustive version control according to standards and local requirements.
- Perform GAP analysis and ensure that there is no missing documentation.
- Work with country OPs teams to redact/review the required documents on Maintenance activities: SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, DESOPs, Engineering Scripts, etc., necessary to conduct in a proper manner the facilities.
- Supports the GEM South Country Ops teams to keep up to date and track Bulletins.
- Contributes to redact and review technical documentation during the construction/expansion, infrastructure and customer installation projects.
- Provide training and support to team members on documentation tools and processes.
- Follows up and ensures that drawings and documents are kept up to date as a result of project execution and change management.
- Contributes to all the auditing activities.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors on documentation needs.
- Monitor and verify the level of accuracy of the documentation. Monitor and generate reports on its status according to the defined metrics.
- Manage documentation requests and queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Process and Policy Administration:
- Reviews processes, procedures, systems with the purpose of continuous improvement. Communicates process deviations and proposed changes to the Country Operations teams.
- Provides recommendations and improvements and ensures that documentation complies with the company policies, industry standards and regulations.
- Supports engineering scripts creation providing tools, templates, examples, etc.
Qualifications
- Technical background. Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
- Have experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Ability to apply knowledge of Equinix processes & procedures, and industry standards to develop and maintain up to date all the relevant technical documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective Data Center operations for the protection of people, data, property, and sites.
Skills and Attributes:
- Self-disciplined with good time management and planning skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and great command of the English language.
- Expert level communication and relevant technical writing.
- Ability to include executive-level communications in standardized templates.
- Familiar with all common applications needed to perform daily tasks, productivity software and CAD drawing software.
- A solid understanding of risk management.
- Skilled at working in alignment with all relevant Health & Safety measures.
