We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Hotel Accountant
Job Location: Ago Palace, Lagos

Job Overview

• The Hotel Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records of the hotel, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations. 
• This role includes preparing budgets, managing cash flow, processing payroll, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports to support decision-making and maintain the hotel’s financial health.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records and ledgers for the hotel.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
• Monitor income and expenditure to ensure budget compliance.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and relevant regulatory standards.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Process payroll and ensure timely payment of staff salaries.
• Prepare and file tax returns and statutory payments (e.g., VAT, PAYE).
• Reconcile bank statements and accounts.
• Coordinate with department heads for budget planning and tracking.
• Prepare financial forecasts and monitor cash flow.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
• Support procurement processes by tracking expenditures and approvals.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
