Job Position: IT Officer
Job Location: Mowe, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • To provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure at Redeemers Health Village. The IT Officer will be responsible for maintaining hardware and software, troubleshooting issues, and supporting staff in using IT resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Support:

  • Provide first-line support for IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.

Network Administration:

  • Assist in managing and maintaining the hospital’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Ensure network security by implementing appropriate measures and protocols.

System Maintenance:

  • Perform regular maintenance and updates on IT systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage antivirus software and perform regular security checks.
  • Backup and restore data as needed to prevent data loss.

User Support and Training:

  • Provide technical support and training to staff on the use of IT systems and software applications.
  • Develop user guides and training materials to enhance staff proficiency with IT resources.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new staff by setting up IT accounts and systems.

IT Asset Management:

  • Maintain an inventory of all IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Monitor and manage IT assets to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Coordinate with vendors for the procurement, repair, and replacement of IT equipment.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of IT support requests and resolutions.
  • Document IT procedures and protocols for reference and training purposes.
  • Prepare regular reports on IT activities and system performance for the IT Manager.

Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and hospital policies.
  • Implement and monitor IT security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Participate in IT audits and support the implementation of audit recommendations.

Project Support:

  • Assist in IT projects, including system upgrades, network installations, and software deployments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of IT initiatives to improve hospital operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, routing, and firewall management.
  • Proficiency in computer hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of data backup and recovery processes.

  • The IT Officer will work in an office environment but may need to visit different departments for support.
