We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
1.) Area Sales Manager
Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Summary
- We are looking for a dynamic go-getter to lead the sales efforts in the region. You must have an eye for detail, the ability to set and drive aggressive sales targets and a strong ability to build performance cultures within your team.
- The profile involves setting objectives to achieve the top and bottom-line results of the region as per the business plan within the defined budget.
- You will plan and drive the distribution and coverage objectives set for the year and develop and retain a high-performance oriented team.
- The incumbent would also be called to plan and execute sales promotional & market development activities and ensure that any new product launches and sales distribution objectives are met.
Key Deliverables
Strategic Effectiveness:
- Strong planning skills, building the regional sales plan as per the organizational distribution segment strategy.
- Building and driving the quarterly sales and revenue targets, ensuring regional sales objectives are achieved.
- A keen eye on performance, managing ground activities as per plans and objectives and taking remedial action in cases of deviations.
Operational Effectiveness:
- Be the centre of the action, control and guide sales and distribution activities within the region.
- You would have strong market connects, identify and report competitor activities within the region. Plan the necessary actions to counter them and to protect your market share.
- Build strong relationships with the distribution channel, co-ordinate for field requirements and support distributors.
Organizational Effectiveness:
- Be the people person, the one-point source of motivation and guidance for the diverse and often large local teams across country/region.
- Plan and execute product training, team development activities and build a robust performance culture within the team.
Requirements
- A flair for sales, numbers should be like second nature to you.
- MBA with 3 - 5 years of post-qualification industry experience.
- Good knowledge of the region and its geography and demographics.
- Prior experience in sales and distribution required.
2.) Assistant Production Manager
Job Location: Ilorin, Kwara
Job Description
- The Production Manager should execute the approved plan to meet the production volume, quality, and safety standards for Hazardous plant.
- Coordination with maintenance department to execute Preventive maintenance plan and minimize the process break downs.
- Coordination with Safety Manager for all regarding safety involving production and maintenance issues.
- Aligns with Technical team and Plant Manager for improvement/modification follow up, as well as sharing process variables, issues, recommendations, etc to ensure safe operation.
Key Deliverables
- Accountable for safety in the Production department. He/she will ensure production team and process comply with safety regulations and norms.
- Align with the plant’s the Plant Manager and ensure implementation of production plan and related actions to meet volume and quality targets for oil and meal.
- Organize with shift in charge, details of material intakes in time as per production plan and to monitor oil storage area to ensure oil transfer in time with confirmation of correct quantity and quality.
- Ensure all the daily and monthly reports for production, consumptions of utilities as well as for maintenance down time will be ready in time for submission to the Plant Manager.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Manager to execute all preventive maintenance plans and spare parts procurement.
- Monitor daily maintenance report and coordinate with Maintenance to ensure optimum performance and minimize plant downtime.
- Ensure continuous development of all team members, training, coaching, encouraging, and has considered especially for Hazardous plant, to monitor and compliance to HSE, GMP, to maintain and improve internal process control, environmental management, food and employee Safety.
- Investigate plant operations problems, analyze the proposal of modifications from shift supervisors and assist Plant manager in its implementation for smooth operations.
- Develop and periodically review plant SOP’s to maintain healthy operation and ensure compliance to every elated standard.
- Coordinate with logistic & Engineering departments to ensure minimum stock of plant consumable.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree, preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years as Production / Process Manager in large Solvent Extraction Plants of >1000Tons per day.
- Experience with modern solvent extraction technology is an added advantage.
3.) Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager
Job Location: Ilorin, Kwara
Description
- The EHS head will be responsible for the implementation of Olams EHS policies across the 25 tier 1 manufacturing plans in Africa.
- The incumbent must have a detailed understanding of all the applicable laws and regulatory guidelines form the EHS perspective for all the plat locations.
- The role requires cross-functional co-ordination as many of the locations do not have dedicated EHS resources.
- For Olam environment is a priority and you will be the driver of our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint.
- As the EHS Head, you will drive the legal compliance and the safety conscience of the organization along with the following key dimensions
Key Deliverables
Strategic Effectiveness
- Draft and publish a safety manual detailing the basics of Olam's EHS policy and procedures.
- This should incorporate applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Design a robust audit system comprising of policy/management/system/infrastructure/process/practice regarding EHS.
- Give inputs to project teams during greenfield/brownfield projects to build in EHS compliance during design stage itself
- Audit project sites for compliance of EHS guidelines and work with project teams to enable compliance
- Coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure compliance to all governing laws
Operational Effectiveness
- Bring out new/unknown risks in new and existing facilities for management to act
- Ensure all Olam facilities are compliant to local/international regulatory norms
- Document areas of improvement, push the envelope when it comes to environmental safety and safe workplace practices
- Identify opportunities to eliminate not just reduce workplace hazards
Organizational Effectiveness
- Undertake and document audits based on the published audit criterion. Work independently for the audits or constitute cross-functional audit teams to conduct effective audits.
- Follow up on action plans on identified gaps as brought out during audits
- Coach and train plant EHS personnel to develop them as EHS leaders in their plants
- Undertake training of plant personnel to ensure safety requirements and the right knowledge is transferred to the lowest level in the plant operations
Requirements
- Engineering Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical
- Total of 10-15 years of industry experience
- Initial experience in maintenance/projects in a large manufacturing set-up will be preferred.
- At least five years of experience in leading the EHS function of a large corporation in national/regional role
- Ability to network, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and people skills.
- Ability to persevere and stay focused in the face of priority conflict with a peer group
- Leverage key stakeholders to move the EHS agenda forward.
