We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
1.) Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting, West & Central Africa
Job Location: Abuja

Job Purpose
- This position will have primary responsibility in the oversight of the regional finance and accounting function for Evidence Action across its countries of operation in West and Central Africa.
- This will include providing direction to the country finance and accounting teams, and liaising with the country leadership to ensure the country teams coordinate the finance and accounting tasks across the sub-region.
- The position will be responsible for ensuring alignment, coordination, and compliance with the finance and accounting policies, processes, and systems in the sub-region.
- The position will coordinate and ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and booking transactions and proper serialization and safe filing.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the WCA Sub region Finance team
- Will regularly communicate with program, country, and WCA Sub Region leads to identify capacity needs and oversee the country Finance functions.
- Responsible for developing/refining and regularly reporting on Key Performance Indicators and Metrics to management concerning the team operations and capacity/gaps.
- The position has access to organization’s confidential information that need to be protected by adhering to organization’s values by keeping information confidential.
- The Senior Manager, Finance will act as a resource and/or coordinate resources between Sub region and country offices, and perform other duties as defined by the department lead/leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities

- In coordination with DFO, will prepare monthly WCA Sub Region Funds Requests to be submitted to HQ, ensuring that the minimum amount of funds are available for the in-country teams to fully implement projects activities and meet all Evidence Action financial engagements in a timely manner
- Maintain financial and accounting system and reporting as guided by the Evidence Action Finance Manual and guidance/policies
- Review all invoices and payments to ascertain compliance with Evidence Action/Donor’s procedures including availability of funds before approvals are done.
- Maintain good working relationships with Evidence Action bankers at both WCA Sub Region office and Country offices
- Perform periodic reviews/expenditures analysis and certify the general ledger, cash book, trial balance and other pertinent reports generated in Sage Intacct accounting software package
- Maintain/Track Accounts Receivable (A/R) for all program staff and ensure settlement of all cash advances within specified timeframe as per financial manual
- Coordinate and maintain WCA Sub Region budgetary controls of expenses, in consultation with Evidence Action’s grants senior manager and DFO.
- Coordinate and review accuracy of the Accounting entries to ensure they are completed within the set timeline to facilitate timely monthly/quarterly donor and management reporting.
- In collaboration with grants senior manager timely coordination and monitoring of all proposed reclasses as advised by the budget holders and other program leads.
- Oversee the facilitation and management of the sub-grant making process through Grants Manager as per Evidence Action Grants Manual, in tandem with donor’s rules and regulations on financial management
- Participate in capacity building of both finance and non-finance staff.
- Prepare for and facilitate external/internal audits as appropriate in consultation with DFO and US office and respond to audit(s) queries.
- Remain up to date on Government regulations and donor‘s financial management and reporting requirements
- Coordinate and guide all financial staff in preparation of Evidence Action annual audits as per schedule and guidance provided.
- Supervise, coordinate and provide technical support to WCA Sub Region Finance staff and conduct review of their duties as appropriate from time to time
- Participate in the staff appraisals for the Country finance leads WCA sub region direct reports.
- Maintain good relations with Evidence Action stakeholders including Donors, Government, Partners, and Communities; adequately espousing Evidence Action principles at all times
- Assist in knowledge management process by providing accurate, sound, and timely professional advice to the management of Evidence Action by providing refresh training/orient new Finance /Admin staff on the Evidence Action finance manual and accounting system.
- Develop/Design tools or put in place a system to assist finance staff to conduct day to day follow- up of the program advances, asset management and assure accurate tracking and reconciliation
- Contribute in all relevant meetings involving consideration of policy/procedures formulation issues relating to the overall operations of the organization.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the DFO.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master's Degree, preferred but not required.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years work experience in a position with similar responsibilities
Skills:
- Strategic and tactical critical thinker with good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Confident decision maker who can communicate directions and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical staff.
- Understanding of the business role Operations and Logistics function within the programs and organization, and to set objectives based on that.

Working conditions:
- Primary work hours and location must include business hours (9:00am-5:00pm), Monday to Friday, in Evidence Action’s Abuja office and any adjustments in agreement with the Director, Finance and Operations, Africa.
- Off-hour work may be required as necessary for overseeing/completing planned activities, participating in international conference calls across time-zones, or responding to emergency situations.
- Some travel. The Associate Manager will visit offices across Nigeria, and other countries within WC Africa when necessary for the purpose of training and meetings of program and country staff.

2.) Associate, Program Data Management
Job Location: Abuja

Description
- The Associate – Program Data Management is a member of the PDM sub-team and the larger Monitoring, Learning and Information Systems (MLIS) team, and is responsible for quality data management for both paper and electronic data across all the countries of operations.
- This is an exciting position that will involve managing data officer(s) and data entry clerks, cleaning and submitting data to program teams or analysis team for analysis.
- The person must be systematic and loves working with big data and attentive to details.
- S/he will work closely with other MLIS team to ensure data is entered as error free as possible while adhering to set timeline
Duties and responsibilities
Data Cleaning:
- Support data cleaning needs across all Evidence Action programs within the countries of operation
- Generate, clean and provide ad hoc datasets as may be required by different programs
- Keep track of any recurring data quality issues arising from the exercising with a viewing of informing when re-training is needed.
- Support the development of comprehensive training manuals to suit the needs of different programs
- Any other Data Management task as assigned by their supervisor
- Able to multi task data cleaning assignments for different programs.
- Document all data cleaning processes and steps in the courses of his or her work
- Develop programs/code that check completeness and clean all program data
- Give timely feedback to the data collection team on quality of data and area of improvement/training
- Coordinate the training of data entry staff.
- Supervise the activities of the data entry casuals by coordinating with the data officer.
Team Management
Data Analysis:
- Conduct quarterly analysis on the quality of work of data collection officers and provide feedback to data collection lead highlighting area of further re-training.
- Develop a comprehensive data-cleaning guide for all data collected within the organization
- Verification and analysis of accuracy of geodata collected for all installed dispenser
- Any other analysis to improve quality, completeness and accuracy of data that might be assigned by the Supervisor.
Key Performance Indicators
- Delivery of clean and complete program quarterly monitoring data within the required time to the data analysis team.
- Delivery of clean and complete process monitoring and coverage validation data within the required time to the data analysis team.
- Timely delivery of complete/programmed surveys for use by the Field Monitoring Team.
- Maintain documentation of data cleaning done in the course of data cleaning (either in syntax or notes)
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, or any other relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantitative research methods and data management, preferably with large and/or complex datasets.
- At least 1-year full time experience conducting data cleaning using Stata, R, Python or MatLab for large datasets (mandatory)
- Experience in working with and programming data entry interfaces using a variety of applications both purchased and open source. Knowledge of SurveyCTO, CSPro, ODK, KoBo and Access will be an added advantage (SurveyCTO and/or ODK highly preferred)
- Strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
- High attention to details and well organized.
- Should have real passion of working with data, be able to think and tell a story from the data (Key desirable)
- Well conversant with the use of MS Office application especially Excel.

3.) Associate, Data Analysis

Description
- The Associate, Data Analysis will analyze and extract actionable recommendations from information collected from all of Evidence Action’s programs.
- The role will require review and analysis of various survey data, and systematic documentation of the analytical efforts used to reach the evidence-based recommendations.
- S/he will contribute to the development of appropriate measurement, sampling, and survey strategies and the design of survey instruments to gather quantitative and qualitative data.
- This position will be a critical piece of the Data Analysis team that operates within Evidence Action’s broader Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation (MLE) team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring and Evaluation Support:
- The Associate, Analysis will provide support and guidance to Evidence Action’s monitoring systems:
- Contribute to the design of the program monitoring processes to ensure appropriate measurements, sampling, and survey strategies
- Support the design and testing of survey instruments and other research tools that will enable clear and meaningful analysis
- Support in the development of key program indicators for measuring of program components and of assessing program outputs and outcomes
- Maintain a service oriented, client-based approach in considering the core research questions held by Evidence Action program teams that will facilitate operational and cost-efficiency improvements.
Analysis:
- The Associate, Analysis will coordinate analysis activities of administrative and monitoring data for program teams.
- Cleaning and analyzing administrative and monitoring data of programs to inform programmatic decision-making
- Produce data reports and lists to support day to day implementation of the program
- Identify and produce well-designed statistical measurements to express results of program data.
- Build and update dashboards and info-graphics to visualize results of program data
- Conduct data quality checks at each stage of program monitoring: highlight recurring data quality issues with the program team and provide recommendations for course correction when necessary
- Extract meaning, in-depth analysis of program data to provides insightful interpretations of data.
- Identify, analyze and interpret patterns and trends in data to help in diagnosis and prediction
- Provide key analytical and knowledge inputs from program data for articles, policy briefs, memos and major proposals
- Develop and update data analysis protocols and systems
- Conduct geospatial analysis of program data to discover the expected and unexpected trends
- Identify research questions, write technical/research papers and disseminate results to program teams
- Support data requests from the program team(s), as needed
Data Management:
- The Associate, Data Analysis will play a prominent role in developing and implementing strong data management systems for program teams
- Support in the development and documentation of data management protocols and tools
- Ensure adherence to data management and analysis protocols in all data collection and analysis activities
- Maintain proper documentation of all analysis files for ease of replication and explain methodology used in analysis.
- Document all data management procedures and lessons learned to increase the quality and reliability of data collection for future years and for other geographies
- Responsible for maintaining and organizing all data files on identified platforms (like Box etc.) as per agreed protocols
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Statistics or another quantitative field.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in an analytical and quantitative role
- Should have real passion of working with data, be able to think and tell a story from the data
- Strong working knowledge of quantitative statistical software packages such as Stata, R, etc. with the ability to learn and adapt to new programs (experience with Stata, R and excel highly preferred)
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in quantitative data analysis
- Ability to work under pressure in a working environment that changes suddenly to accommodate new data needs
- Should possess strong attention to detail, have real passion of working with data, be able to think and tell a story from the data (Key desirable)
- Experience in working with mapping software such as GIS, ArcGIS, R, etc
- Experience in data visualization and reporting software such as R-shiny and Power BI
- Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in statistics to help identify patterns and trends and interpret data
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills to work effectively with a team that is geographically dispersed
