Lumos is a market leader in Africa in offering affordable and clean solar energy to a pan-African potential market of 1.3 billion customers. Lumos Group has existed since 2013 and has deployed more than 200,000 solar home systems to SMEs and retail customers. In the last 1.5 years, Lumos has developed a new business strategy addressing both the changing customer needs and challenges in the industry. The change in strategy is successful and has resulted in a solid stream of sales. Based on this result, management has decided to expand the sales in 2024 and accelerate the growth.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) State Manager


Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • The role of the State Manager would be to implement the sales strategy within the state environment to ensure that the state acquisition and Repayment targets are achieved.
  • S/he will manage and lead the territory team towards Sales, Inventory Management and Repayment are made within the state.
  • The SM will ensure people management and capability development of the team, ensure end-to-end on the sales cycle is achieved till installation and use of Apps.
  • The SM is responsible for driving the timely delivery of business targets whilst ensuring that team members understand their specific and unique role to bottom line results.
  • The SM will drive Lumos Nigeria’s growth aspirations that offers clean, affordable solar power to a market of potential customers in Nigeria who live within and off the electricity grid areas.

Key Accountabilities
Increase sale revenue:

  • Coordinate state sales activities and ensure synergy with other activities within and outside the department and contribute to developing and executing the state business plan.
  • Implementing sales goals and communicating them to Territory managers and LCP.
  • Preparing sales reports and submitting them to VP Community business.
  • Follow-up the sales figures against the set sales target on daily and monthly bases; provide recommendations for necessary actions.
  • Conduct state sales promotion activities within the assigned budget.
  • Review sales operations in state ensuring operational objectives are accomplished, identifying trends, providing input into sales forecasting and ensuring optimum service levels are achieved and maintained.
  • Attend sales team meetings on a periodic basis to communicate product strategies, upcoming objectives and exchange ideas on how to support Partners achieve their targets and promote products.
  • Ensure prompt payment from customers and take necessary actions to minimize bad debts.
  • Formulate policies that will drive adoption of product.
  • Drive premium subscription amongst customers joining
  • Identify and formulate state sales strategies to help drive distribution across communities.
  • Ensure expansions to align to dimensioned number of active community partnership.

Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management or related Social Sciences
  • Fluent in English
  • Master’s in business administration would be an additional qualification
  • 8 to 10 years of varied experience in Sales & Marketing with at least 4 years at middle management level in supervising/managing others.
  • Experience working in a multi-level marketing is an added advantage.
  • Candidate with proven work experience in the Power/Energy industry will be given 
  • Proven track record in sales/ distributor account management
  • Customer management experience.

2.) Regional Business Manager

Job Location: Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau and Rivers (South/South or South/West)

Role Overview

  • The Regional Business Manager is responsible for driving the success of Lumos’s Community Business within the designated region. This position entails comprehensive oversight of operations, performance, and strategic initiatives to deliver financial targets and Partner success, promote growth and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regional Leadership: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Lumos’ Community Business within the region.
  • Repayment Performance: Achieve and exceed targets related to repayment revenue, repayment rates, default rates, loss rates and customer retention metrics.
  • Customer Acquisition Performance: Achieve and exceed targets related to acquisition revenue, new customer acquisitions, Partner active rates, and Partner run rates.
  • Team Development: Recruit, manage, mentor, and enhance the performance of State Managers, Partner Development Managers, Partners, and regional support staff to foster a high-performing team.
  • Partner Management: Oversee the recruitment and selection of Partners, ensuring effective training during and after the Academy program to deliver and maintain targeted numbers of high-quality Partners in the region.
  • Performance Optimization: Implement a robust performance management program with regular touchpoints to enhance the effectiveness of State Managers, Partner Development Managers, and Partners.
  • Performance Analysis: Manage, track, and analyse regional performance against set targets and key metrics, developing growth plans focused on acquisition, repayment, and partner effectiveness.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed business reports, highlighting trends—both positive and negative—and recommending actionable changes for improvement.
  • Risk Management: Monitor potential risks such as fraud and theft, taking necessary actions in collaboration with relevant local authorities when required.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth operations of the Community Business, including logistics, stock control, process improvements, and effective collaboration with other Lumos departments.
  • Expansion Strategies: Develop and implement strategies for growth into new communities within the region.
  • Brand Management: Maintain and enhance Lumos' quality standards, image, and reputation with all stakeholders, including staff, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Market Insights: Track competitive landscape and provide insights on industry trends to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Marketing Execution: Contribute to the development and manage the execution of marketing plans and materials that effectively promote Lumos’ offerings.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Educational Background: HND/BSc in a business-related field or a relevant discipline.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior or managerial role within the consumer service industry, preferably in a consumer transaction-based environment. Demonstrated success in customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth is essential.
  • Regional Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience in the territorial areas of the region are mandatory.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, along with strong management and administrative skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven planning, organizing, analytical, and decision-making capabilities, with an innovative and out-of-the-box thinking approach.
  • Coaching Ability: Strong listening skills and a proven track record as a coach, demonstrating operational excellence.

3.) Senior Accountant - Report and Treasury

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description 

  • We are looking for a self-driven and ambitious Senior Accountant, to lead the reporting and treasury teams and ensure that Lumos has the best in class reporting and treasury process.
  • Excellent financial reporting and other tax and regulatory reporting
  • The implementation of best-in-class treasury process
  • The continuous development of the teams.

Job Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

Financial and tax reporting:

  • Prepare monthly IFRS financial information.
  • Prepare yearly statutory financial statements
  • Prepare consolidation package
  • Prepare all tax and other regulatory reporting.

General ledger maintenance:

  • Overseeing the general ledger.
  • Ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Assisting in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

Leading financial audit and tax audits:

  • Be the lead person for handling the audit of the financial statements and consolidation reporting.
  • Lead the tax audits.
  • Ensure that all audit findings are followed up on.

Accounting analysis:

  • Follow all developments in IFRS and CAMA and prepare analysis of the impact on Lumos Nigeria.
  • Follow all developments in in all tax laws and prepare analysis of the impact on Lumos Nigeria.
  • Ensure that the outcome of the analyses are implemented throughout the company.

Treasury:

  • Lead the operational relationship with the banks and other payment providers.
  • Ensure that all payments are paid on time and are correct.
  • Handle and manage all other treasury tasks.

Team Management:

  • Lead the accounting and treasury team members.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance skills and expertise.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Deeply enthusiastic about accounting and a real understanding that accounting can have a positive impact on the business
  • Candidate must have at least 5 years Finance Professional Experience with a a proven track record of achieving Business Excellence
  • Must have solid hands-on experience with ERP systems
  • Big 4 experience is an added advantage
  • Experienced with tax and other regulatory reporting
  • Being able to handle large data sets in excel and to use it for depreciation, impairment, deferred income calculations etc.
  • Experience with operational treasury tasks.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Continuously striving for improvement and resilient
  • Candidate must have strong business acumen.
  • MSc / BSc /HND in Accountancy / Finance combined with ICAN, ACCA (equivalent) is preferred
  • Knowledge of French is an advantage
  • Candidates must be of good character and trust worthy.

Salary
N450,000 - N550,000 monthly.
