1.) Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Purpose


  • As a infrastructure Engineer, you will be accountable for assisting the SysOps team lead in planning, organizing, controlling, and management of all platforms and implementation of related infrastructure strategy.
  • We are looking for an experienced individual to help us manage and develop our cloud infrastructure.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system operations, cloud platforms, and a deep understanding of DevOps principles.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Be a thought leader with regards to Clickatell's overall cloud adoption strategy.
  • Divisional policy and process formulation, strategic planning, resource coordination and operational execution of projects and assisting in procurement process.
  • Installation/configuration, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the Clickatell messaging engine hardware, software, and related infrastructure with a focus on high availability, stability and security.
  • Work closely with software development teams to facilitate smooth integration of applications with cloud infrastructure.
  • Scripting and coding to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud-based infrastructure issues.
  • Ensuring network, hardware, operating systems, software applications and any related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, customers, and partners
  • Technical liaison with enterprise customers and vendors as required Service, maintain, commission, and support global platforms, with a view towards high availability

Requirements of the Role

  • Related IT qualification / 5+ years in a system administrative position
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux certified (RHCE or better) or other appropriate Linux/Unix certification (preferred)
  • Cloud certifications (AWS preferred)
  • Proven experience as a SysOps Engineer or similar role.
  • Operating systems, from bare steel to network services
  • Containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) knowledge
  • Use of CD/CI tools (Anisible/Puppet/Terraform) advantageous
  • Experience in virtualisation and cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar.
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux certified (RHCE or better) or other appropriate Linux/Unix certification advantageous
  • Perl, python, ruby and/or PHP scripting experience advantageous
  • Containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) knowledge advantageous
  • Proven experience in and with a large, ISP-type environment and infrastructure advantageous
  • Monitoring and alerting experience with Open-Source technologies like Icinga/Nagios, Nagvis, Logstash, Elasticsearch, Graphite and Kibana Advantageous
  • Proven experience in production environments of the below is advantageous:
  • SAN storage solutions
  • Software package building and release management with software tools such as Puppet, Chef or Salt
  • Network/OS clustering
  • Own transport and driver's license beneficial in the rare circumstance where emergency onsite support is required at the data centre

Must understand and demonstrate knowledge of:

  • Networking, from Ethernet to IP
  • IP networks, including but not limited to working knowledge of DHCP, DNS, SMTP, FTP, HTTP
  • Minimum of 5 years in a system administrative position
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience with Unix or derivative
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience with troubleshooting hardware and/or software
  • Minimum of 3 years programming or scripting experience (advantageous)

  • As a Data Engineer, you will be joining our cross-functional data team, and supporting the design, build and testing of high-performance, scalable and multi-event level data solutions.

  • Design and develop scalable and robust pipelines for data consumption by downstream applications in support of advanced analytics, AI/ML products, and system interoperability.

  • National Diploma, B-Tech or bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or informatics.

Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of production data engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working in cloud environments.
  • A background working in a high-volume payment transaction environment, or mobile technology platforms and systems integration would be advantageous and be able to demonstrate a sustained track record of delivering high-quality outputs, on-time and to product or business specifications.
  • Knowledge and Abilities
  • Excellent hands-on experience in working with SQL and NoSQL data sets.
  • Experience with data streaming architecture.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps principles such as CI/CD.
  • Exposure to Business Intelligence, data warehousing (dimensional modelling) will be advantageous.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking pricing, ensuring margin stability, follow up on new product launches and product performance. This role will be responsible of setting pricing analysis, impact analysis and modelling different adoption and monetization scenarios to cater to Clickatell business’ revenue targets. This is a highly collaborative and analytical role that requires the consideration of data from multiple sources, and development of sophisticated and dynamic pricing and performance models.

Pricing Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Design pricing strategies for Clickatell's product offerings in collaboration with the Pricing Team, incorporating insights from market trends and competitive analysis.
  • Analyze and track customer engagement, utilizing findings to develop effective pricing strategies that align with company goals.

Market and Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough research on market trends within Chat Commerce and competitive pricing architectures, packaging, and price points across key geographies and products.
  • Incorporate key market findings into pricing and packaging design, ensuring Clickatell’s offerings remain competitive and appealing tthe target audience.

Financial and Pricing Analysis:

  • Execute detailed pricing and financial analyses to support pricing proposals, ensuring alignment with Clickatell’s financial objectives and margin stability.
  • Use financial and scenario modeling techniques to assess the impact of various pricing strategies on margins, sales, and unit volumes.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the Product Management, Finance, Sales, and other key stakeholders to develop and communicate pricing recommendations and ensure the successful implementation of pricing strategies.
  • Regularly communicate price positioning ta wide range of audiences, including Sales teams, ensuring pricing documentation accurately reflects current pricing.

Pricing Frameworks and Tools Development:

  • Establish and continuously improve a comprehensive product pricing framework and policies that guide profitable selling, aligned with company margin expectations.

Requirements of the Role
Educational Background:

  • Mandatory BA/BS Honours in Business Economics or Statistics, Mathematics.
  • MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred to provide a solid foundation in complex analytical and strategic thinking.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of direct experience in product pricing, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in the Software as a Service (SaaS) or technical software product sectors.
  • Proven track record of developing, implementing, and optimizing pricing strategies that positively affect product profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Experience in conducting comparative analysis of software industry data and translating insights into actionable pricing strategies.

Technical and Analytical Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with an ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights & expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel is non-negotiable.
  • The candidate must possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, demonstrating the ability to perform complex data analysis, model financial scenarios, and utilize a wide range of formulas, pivot tables, macros, and data visualization tools.
