We are expanding the team to enable Stitch to broaden our product offering and extend our geographical footprint.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Business Development Manager

Job Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full time

The Role

  • We are looking for a Business Development Manager in Nigeria to support and complement our growing sales team led by our Head of Business Development.
  • On a day-to-day basis, your role will range from sourcing customer leads, facilitating initial conversations, and closing deals with key customers in our pipeline. As an integral member of our Sales team, you’ll be responsible for creating excitement about Stitch - our customers come first at Stitch and you'll represent their perspective and fulfill their needs at the coalface.
  • Our ideal candidate is highly motivated to succeed both individually and with a fast-growing startup. They have very strong communication skills, with buckets of enthusiasm for the African fintech space.

Responsibilities

  • Source prospects and leads in Nigeria, working with the Head of Business Development in managing sales processes, conducting sales calls, negotiating, and closing deals with Nigerian prospects
  • Research target companies, identify key decision-makers, and prepare sales pitches before and after calls
  • Update, analyse, and facilitate goal-setting for our sales pipeline using our internal CRM
  • Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
  • Understand our customers' needs to help them achieve their business goals using Stitch

Requirements

  • 5+ years proven work experience in a B2B sales or business development role
  • Experience in selling to multiple different segments, and developing differentiated messaging & sales approaches across different target segments
  • Ability to understand & explain technical products and interact with both highly technical and business savvy B2B customers
  • A track record of performing at or above sales targets
  • Experience with using CRM software to track deal progress and indicate next steps

  • Strong network and content knowledge in the local Fintech or Banking space
  • Experience in selling into other financial technology companies or online businesses in need of payments or data products

Job Position: Product Manager - Data

Job Location: Lagos (Remote)

Description

  • Stitch is a developer-first API startup with a mission to deeply connect financial systems with the wider world. We provide an API which allows third-party apps and websites to interact with their user's bank accounts in ways that unlocks the ability for companies across Africa to build innovative technology products quickly.
  • Creating innovative financial products is incredibly difficult today, and we believe that unlocking the way people interact with their finances starts with enabling developers with the tools and infrastructure needed to execute on their vision.
  • So far, Stitch's offering has been engineering-led: we've spent the last 24 months developing a feature-rich codebase across our products. As such, we've built solutions in two core areas: Payments and Open Finance Data.
  • We're looking for a Product Manager to lead our Open Finance Data products - where we provide foundational building blocks to businesses looking to access financial data on their customers to build innovative products.
  • As a Product Manager, you'll be responsible for helping to define and manage the products which will enable Stitch and our customers to shape the future of financial services. You'll connect with our users to understand their needs, develop product strategy, prioritise and roadmap key features, and work closely with Engineering to ship products.
  • You will be responsible for coordinating teams across Stitch to move a product from ideation to scale including engineering, design, legal, data science, marketing and sales. As a result you will need to be a strong communicator that can work cross functionally.
  • The ideal candidate has built technical products from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand customer needs by spending time with customers, sales, and support and observing patterns/trends across their feedback and the market
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for our Open Finance Data Products, and the associated user-facing API experience
  • Work closely with our engineers to build new products and features
  • Own decisions directly impacting the growth of Stitch’s data business
  • Work cross functionally with engineering, design, data science, legal, marketing and sales to build and grow our data products

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent working experience
  • 6-10 years of total work experience
  • 2 - 4 years in a product role, most recently as a product manager
  • A track record of success in financial technology or a related technology start-up
  • Has built APIs, products, and complex systems at scale
  • Top-tier technical acumen, curiosity, and familiarity with new technologies, APIs, Developer Experiences and databases

Skills
Advantageous:

  • Strong network and content knowledge in the local Fintech or Banking space
  • Strong knowledge of customers and customer needs in various key markets - including South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana
  • Experience in working in B2B SaaS, API or Payments companies
  • Strong understanding of developers and what makes a good developer experience

  • Experience working on B2B2C products, or experience with both developing products for developers and developing products for end-users

Job Position: Legal & Regulatory Lead

Job Location: Lagos (Remote)

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a Legal & Regulatory Lead to head up our Legal, Regulation and Compliance team.

Responsibilities

  • Master a deep understanding of the rules and regulations governing each market in which we operate, including monitoring any changes and developments and maintaining active relationships with regulatory counterparts
  • Internally advise and work with our Product & Distribution teams to develop a regulatory roadmap that allows Stitch to go to market effectively with its payments and data products
  • Draft and review legal documentation that meets both local regulatory requirements and product & sales objectives, such as customer/partner contracts, service-level agreements, and terms & conditions
  • Originate and manage outsourced/localized legal & compliance relationships on a per-territory basis where additional advisory may be required
  • Develop and implement a framework of policies and procedures for managing and mitigating operational and compliance risks, including know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML)
  • Oversee the gathering of international documentation to meet external reporting obligations, whether facing regulators, investors, customers, or any other external counterpart
  • Develop, coordinate, and/or oversee internal and external audit procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and policies related to the organization's compliance activities.

Requirements

  • 5 - 10 years in a senior legal, regulatory, risk, or compliance role in payments & financial services
  • Licensed attorney in a current area of practice
  • Deep knowledge of applicable global and local payments and data compliance regulation e.g., PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR, open banking regulations
  • Familiarity with information security standards such as ISO 27001 and CIS Top 18
  • Ability to develop relationships with relevant regulators (payments bodies, Central Banks or other regulatory bodies) across relevant jurisdictions
  • Prior track record working cross-functionally to enable regulatory compliance across multiple dimensions of a high-growth business: within product (e.g. as counsel to product design and T/Cs), within business development (e.g. identifying ways to onboard partners and customers in a compliant way), and within technology (e.g. working with information security to build a robust IS org)

Skills:
Advantageous:

  • Experience in compliance across multiple African jurisdictions (west Africa, east Africa, etc.)
  • Previous experience working in a technology startup and navigating a regulatory ambiguous product area (e.g. like open banking in South Africa).
