1.) Hotel Receptionist

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

  • Responds to communications from guests, travel agents, and referral networks concerning reservations arriving by mail, telephone, or through a central reservation system.
  • Creates and maintains reservation records-usually by date of arrival and alphabetical listing prepares letters of confirmation and promptly processes any cancellations and modifications.
  • Additional duties may include preparing the list of expected arrivals for the front office, assisting in preregistration activities when appropriate, and processing advance reservation deposits. Greet guests in an efficient, courteous and professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processes reservations by mail, telephone, or central reservation systems referral.
  • Get vital information from guest to complete their profile i.e. email, telephone numbers, work or home address; place of work etc.
  • Work in conjunction with housekeeping and other departments to ensure all rooms are clean and well-furnished to accommodate guests.
  • Upsell additional facilities when appropriate
  • Maintain up to date records of all guests in house.
  • Check out guests at the end of their stay, check billing instructions and collect payment.
  • Check in guests and provide information about the hotel. For instance: Restaurant, Gym, Business Centre tec.
  • Knows the type of rooms available as well as their location and layout.
  • Knows the selling status, rates, and benefits of all packages plans.
  • Knows the credit policy of the hotel and how to code each reservation.
  • Creates and maintains reservation records by date of arrival and alphabetical listing.
  • Determines room rates based on the selling tactics of the hotel.
  • Processes advance deposits on reservations.
  • Tracks future room availabilities on the basis of reservations.
  • Helps develop room revenue and occupancy forecasts.
  • Prepares expected arrival list for front office use.
  • Prepares letters of confirmation.
  • Processes cancellations and modifications and promptly relays this information to the front desk.
  • Understands the hotel's policy on guaranteed reservations and no-shows.
  • Assists in preregistration activities when appropriate.
  • Monitors advance deposit requirements.
  • Handles daily correspondence. Responds to inquiries and makes reservations as needed.
  • Makes sure that files are kept up to date.
  • To be aware of all front office procedures and assist with reception duties when required.
  • To be fully aware of and adhere to health and safety, fire and bomb threat procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and neat appearance and work area at all times.
  • Promotes goodwill by beings courteous, friendly, and helpful to guests, managers, and fellow employees.
  • Tracks future room availability on the basis of reservations, and helps develop forecasts for room revenue and occupancy.
  • Perform any other work as and when assigned by the management.

Prerequisites
Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent. Must speak, read. Write, and understand the English Language.

Experience:

  • At least one year of work experience. Previous hotel-related experience is an added advantage. Experience in Hotel software (Opera) and its functionalities.

2.) Hotel Maintenance Manager

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Preventive maintenance programme.
  • Any Emergency Procedures.
  • Back-up System (Diesel Generator (DG) Sets and UPS Backup)
  • Fire alarms and its monitoring.
  • Carry out proposed renovation of guest rooms or public areas.
  • Fireand Safety procedures.
  • Fix any water leaks (isolation points).
  • Maintenance calls logging and action.
  • Ensure all types of equipment are checked regularly for proper and efficient operation.
  • Regular tests of fire prevention system.
  • Maintenance request forms filled out for all equipment or areas in need of repair
  • All guest requests are given priority.
  • Any electricity and light failure.
  • Plant and Equipment Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM).
  • Hot water boiler check.
  • HVAC (Heating, ventilating and air conditioning) check.
  • Cold water storage tanks.
  • Water PH level monitoring for swimming pool and other water sources.
  • Health club and Gym equipment.
  • Monitor any external or 3rd party vendor maintenance jobs.
  • Building structure.
  • All Lifts and Escalators.
  • Bathroom exhaust fans.
  • Swimming pool.
  • Roof condition.
  • Windows.

Requirements

4.) Hotel Internal Audit Officer

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain high confidentiality in regard to Hotel Management privacy.
  • Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings.
  • Receiving all items bought and brought into Hotel and as well take a record of any item moving out of the Hotel.
  • Notify the financial controller regarding loopholes, errors and misconduct identified.
  • As custodian of prices, clearing petty cash requests/budget and retirement. Also, embark on a market survey.
  • Have sound independent judgment.
  • Stock taking of items in the stores, that is, checking bin cards with the physical stock in the store.
  • Checking the hotel’s revenue on a daily basis, that is, comparing dockets with the printed copies, verification of cash, POS, cheque, and hard currencies if any. Also, extraction of complementary sales both for guests and management staff.
  • Issuance of printed materials under our custody such as captain order, misc. booklets, laundry tariff/coupon, fuel/diesel coupon e.t.c and tracking records through serial numbers.
  • Obtain, analyze and evaluate accounting documentation & reports.
  • Vetting of hotel’s payroll, Payee, and Pension and ensuring remittance to appropriate authorities.
  • Maintain open communication with management and the audit team.
  • Vouching and clearing of business maintenance/refunds to clients.
  • Application of hotel regulations, and adherence to existing laws and regulations.
  • Advisory role to the management.
  • Verifying departmental stock card balances with the physical stock in store before clearing petty cash/budget requests for departments.
  • Ability to manage a large amount of data and compile detailed reports.
  • Any other job assigned to you by the management.
  • Verification of acknowledged bills sent to clients.
  • Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans.
  • Determine ways to cut costs and improve profitability.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Prerequisites
Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any related field.
  • Member of the relevant certification body.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of hotel audit supervisory experience, experience handling accounting and store procedures, and general administrative tasks.

5.) Hotel General Manager (Expert)

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

  • The General manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel, from day-to-day staff management and guests. He / She should be an ambassador for the brand
  • Provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of our service culture, maximized operations and guest satisfaction. Work Very closely with the hotel owners and other stakeholders.
  • Responsible for managing the Hotels management team (HODs) and overall hotel targets to deliver an excellent Guest experience
  • A General Manager would also be required to manage profitability and guest satisfaction measures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations functions of the hotel, as per the Organizational chart.
  • Hold regular briefings and meetings with all heads of departments.
  • Ensure full compliance with hotel operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Lead all key property issues including capital projects, customer service and refurbishment.
  • Handling complaints, and overseeing the service recovery procedures.
  • Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget.
  • Manage ongoing profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotels and management.
  • Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short- and long-term strategic goals for the property.
  • Developing improvement actions, and carrying out cost savings.
  • A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies
  • Closely monitor the hotel’s business reports on a daily basis and take decisions accordingly.
  • Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, are on target and accurate.
  • Maximizing room yield and hotel/resort revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting for the owners and stakeholders.
  • Draw up plans and budgets(revenues, costs, etc.) for the owners.
  • Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment, and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services.
  • Coordination with HOD's for the execution of all activities and functions.
  • Lead in all aspects of business planning.
  • Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
  • Corporate client handling and taking part in new client acquisition along with the sales team whenever required.
  • Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations both (internal & external audits).
  • Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads on a daily basis.
  • Manage and develop the Hotel Executive team to ensure career progression and development.
  • Be accountable for the responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.
  • Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
  • Responsible for legalization, Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal requirements.

Prerequisites:

  • The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly intelligent hotel professional with outstanding, management skills and extensive hands-on experience. Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

Education and Experience

  • A University Degree in Hotel Management or a related field with Experience in opening, managing or re-positioning a hotel with a clear track record. Excellent computer system skills.
  • 10 to 20 years of experience in a 4-Star or 5-Star hotel, with international experience. And 5 to 10 years of experience as a General Manager or Asst. General Manager.
