Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc is the premier, largest and most profitable, non-aligned Primary Mortgage Bank in Nigeria. Abbey is one of the seven national Primary Mortgage Banks (PMB) licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN). The recent recapitalization exercise saw the downsize from 105 mortgage banks to only 34 now surviving. We not only emerged successfully capitalized but one of the few that also met our National obligation as well as amongst the public liability companies.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Junior Database Administrator

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

• Establishing user needs and monitoring user access and security
• Maintaining the database definition layer
• Loading data from flat files
• Performing system and database monitoring
• Analyzing data for efficiency improvements and business opportunities
• Minimizing database downtime and managing parameters
• Assisting with application fault diagnosis
• Conducting backup operations
• Investigating and troubleshooting Vantage Application issues
• Enforcing and documenting database policies and procedures.

Requirements

• B.Sc / HND in Computer Science / Management Information System / Computer Engineering from an accredited university
• 1 - 2 years of experience in Systems/Database Administration
• Minimum 1 year experience in IT roles
• Good analytical and data analysis skills
• Understanding of MS SQL, MySQL or other Database types
• Knowledge of ITIL & COBIT frameworks will be an advantage
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• High level of integrity and teamwork
• Flexibility and willingness to go beyond job requirements.
